Cloud Atlas Sextet // Piano (with sheet music)

6 жыл бұрынSo I watched Cloud Atlas recently and I can't seem to get it out of my head. Not surprising though, the movie is such a trip!
I wasn't really sure how to call this - it's not really a cover, nor variations nor a medley- it's mostly improv based on the main theme that appeared throughout the movie, and a lot of the End Title track. Some call this the Cloud Atlas Sextet or March so I'll just settle with the former
I feel it might be a bit too cluttered in some places, but there's a ton of simple, quieter covers out there so I guess it won't hurt to have one out there with a different approach~ Hope it sounds alright anyway!

This is really right up there with Mike Fowler's interpretation of the Sextet. For the longest time, I've never found anyone who played it better than him on KZfaq. Now, I have.

I remember when you posted this video. For a full 2 weeks it was the first song I listen to when I woked up to go to work. The first song I listen to when I got back from work. And the last song just before going to bed. I really admire your talent for interpretation. 😛

This is exactly what I was looking for while searching for a piano transcription of cloud atlas sextet. The music is supposed to be calm and peaceful, but that’s not what look like in the orchestra version. This music is a flow of emotion and has to be strong, as is strong the movie. Thanks for this, you are such an amazing and full of talent pianist, keep with good work

Sixsmith. I climb the steps of the Scott Monument every morning and all becomes clear. Wish I could make you see this brightness. Don't worry, all is well. All is so perfectly, damnably well. I understand now that boundaries between noise and sound are conventions. All boundaries are conventions, waiting to be transcended. One may transcend any convention if only one can first conceive of doing so. Moments like this, I can feel your heart beating as clearly as I feel my own, and I know that separation is an illusion. My life extends far beyond the limitations of me.

Interesting choice of items on the piano, the coffee cup and top. I’ll be left to my imagination the interpretation of these being there, and I’m sure it was purposeful. And a VERY NICE rendition of Cloud Atlas, one of the most moving films of all time!

Mmm I love this track that makes up the musical theme throughout the film. Personally I prefer the higher octave as opposed to your low notes as I thought the end of your arrangement was fabulously understated and allowed the essence of the track to shine through. You are great btw.
