The purpose of mixing is to balance every element out. When using an EQ always focus on two things, #1 what sounds bad #2 what needs to be heard more. When using a compressor the thing to focus on if you are rapping to an .mp3 or .wav file is to make sure that the level of the vocals matches the level of the beat. With this being said there are many different types of EQs and compressors so I will go over my vocal chain and how i use them. The first thing in my chain is a FULLY parametric EQ. I use this to take out frequencies that I don't like. Then I go into compression and I use a method where you stack TWO compressors on top of each other. When doing this i like to aim for 2-3 gain reduction FOR EACH compressor. Next up I like to use another EQ to boost frequencies that are needed.

Hello faraii !!! I need your help , currently iam using solo audio interface from focusrite , and planing to Get audient id14 for the upgrade . Am i gonna notice big difference from the upgrade ? And from what i know , audient id14 specification is 24/96khz while the focusrite is 24/192khz , i dont really understand about these number but from what i see isnt that look like a downgrade ??? Just know that those headphones are tailored to sound a bitter sweeter, which can fool your ear so after mixing try listening on a different system like a Bluetooth speaker or earbuds etc..
