To be fair, Cloud was completely comatose and Zack told him to be "his living legacy". It's not Cloud's fault. On top of that, Sephiroth and Jenova are messing with his memories by giving him Zack's memories via the Jenova cells. Finally, Cloud is as strong, stronger even, than a second class SOLDIERS like Roche. He has no reason whatsoever to think he WASN'T a SOLDIER 1st class.

I feel like all his delusions in this game are gonna build up to a worser mental breakdown for part 3 when he realizes what actually happened to Zack in this timeline 😭

Not inaccurate at all? Zack x Aerith were a couple until Zack went missing, and Aerith didn't know what happened to him. Zack wrote to his parents about finding a girlfriend, and Nojima points out in Crisis Core Ultimania that the girlfriend is Aerith. So I'm not sure what inaccuracies you are imagining. LOL.

I don't recall Crisis Core terribly well, but this might have been the first real chance Zack had to talk about having a girlfriend to someone he considered a friend and, knowing him, he'd likely be bursting to chat about it.

I made my first runs of FF7 with Zack just beeing "the guy in the photo". He didn't even had a name, and i didn't make the connection with his parents in Congaga. I'm not even telling you about the video in Nibelheim's manor that shows you how he died, that i found years later on youtube. For me, he was just killed by Sephiroth in the reactor...

Aside from finding the flashback on KZfaq because I was just exploring right before the crater and stumbled on the scene, I get what you're saying. Zack was a footnote in the ff7 game even though a lot of the things in that game were centered around his memory. He was named when Cloud lost his mind, but it never really struck me that he survived after the reactor either until I stumbled back into the Shinra mansion.

In rebirth roche gets even more enhancements most likely pushing him to 2nd class ranking and even then he still gets out classes by cloud with relative ease. Clouds not first class on paper but his abilities and strengths are definitely in 1st class ranking.

I know nothing of that!” and just starts running away while holding her head. I interpreted this scene as her being “chased” by something (probably Sephiroth) before Cloud “saves her” by allowing her to enter his subconscious.

Is there really any truth to be revealed anymore though? They already spoiled it with Crisis Core Reunion, plus all the people who comment on these videos flat out spoiling the fact that Cloud was never a SOLDIER. There are unfortunately no secrets left in the remake saga at this point. I don't like the way Square Enix handled this even though I like the games.

(ive been waiting for this day ) so final fantasy 7 came out in 1997 advent children 2005 dirge of cerberus 2006 (not entirely relevant but im including it ) crisis core 2007 then advent children complete 2009 (which was the directors cut ) theres also ever crisis which was a mobile phone game never played it doesnt seem to have much from iit anyway the remake project is consisting of 3 game remake rebirth and whatever there gonna name the last one my geuss will be reunion basicly what there doing is takeing the original source material of ff7 1997 and adapting to a modern audience while changing certain aspects of the story which will eventually lead to a different ending and also including elements character and story from the other titles above in the original game 1997 cloud doesnt remember zack till a later point and under very different circumstances (im also trying to keep this spoiler free ) theres also a another scene that happens with tifa in the original game that in rebirth happens a bit differently both scenes are going to have a very negative effect for cloud in the next game possibly although the ending of rebirth may negate that will just have to wait and see @@user-nx3pt1no6e

Cloud is the real hero. He beat Sephiroth 3 times. While Zack never beat him. He beat him in crisis core when he didn’t even have his SOLDIER abilities yet.

Zack's story paved the path for Cloud to become a hero. that's what his role is..

Don't worry. The game ends with him hallucinating a lot of things, everything he "remembers" or "sees" is completely wrong and false, even relating to Aerith now in the remake trilogy. Tifa is still gonna be the one to save him and make him confront reality, because if the ending is anything to go by, Cloud is living in complete and utter delusion. He really does need to be saved by tifa.

But did get context from watching clips so anyone more knowledgeable than I are free to expound further as I never played the original but did play Crisis Core (Zack's game) and watched Advent Children. Anyway.... Crisis Core is a prequel of FFVII. The Cloud you are probably aware of is the byproduct of Zack's death due to trauma as he died right before his very eyes. At first, he was trying to live as Zack's living legacy (often stated in the games) but as time goes on, he started to believe he was Zack, adapting some of his mannerisms while retaining some of his own. Not only that, but he believes himself to be a SOLDIER when he never actually became one. As for Aerith, she did die by the hands of Sephiroth in the original game. I don't know the exact turn of events hence why I can't provide further details on this one. Also yes, there are plenty of clips of these on KZfaq so you can go and see it for yourself. after the nibelheim incident Zack and cloud were captured and experimented on for a couple years. Zack managed to escape and drag a half conscious cloud with him. while on the run Zack was gunned down by a bunch of shinra troops. as Zack was bleeding out cloud crawled over to him and Zack passed on the buster sword. a couple months after Zack died the events of the OG FF7 take place. about halfway through the OG game sephiroth stabs aerith through the back.

Not really. New voice fit for Zack and also works very well for Cloud to imitate because of how similar their voices are. With the old voice, both Zack and Cloud sounds so different that I don't think the Nibelheim flashback would work given that Cloud va sound nothing like Zack.
