My boyfriend and I got a tiny black clownfish from one fish store and 2 days later got a larger little black clownfish from a different local store and they paired instantly! It was love at 1st sight! They saw each other before they could get to each other and by the time bigger one was acclimated and mixed in with little, they were inseparable :D So cool!

Great video. I have a oscellaris thats a juvenile and a baby percula designer I guess you would say. Its white with orange markings. They dont seem to be pairing. The bigger one keeps trying but not quite as diligently as when I first got them about a month ago. I feel so bad for the female! I am ordering fish now and thought of adding a third baby oscellaris very cheap too at 8 bucks lol . Could that cause a huge problem or should I just wait and see? I have read it can take up to 3 months but in the past I have only bought osselaris and it happened very fast! If they dont pair should I remove the percula? I could put in frag tank! I hate to remove that one since its beautiful though! haha It would be difficult to find another one just like it and try again with that clown! I have read that its not healthy for clownfish to be in the same tank unpaired and they could also end up fighting to the death! Not to mention it breaks my heart to watch them unpaired when the big one wants to so bad!

I have a hybrid mai tai that I’ve had for 8 years, it was my first fish. I didn’t know what I was getting into. I’ve been through at-least a half dozen candidates. All of them being either designer ocellaris or maroons. Neither of them worked. Well today I saw your video showing how the instincts get worse the further you get into designer clowns and I went and got a regular plain ocellaris and she paired immediately.

I get it, yes, the usual tricks like "getting them both when young" or "get same species/pattern" are commonly known. I just wonder if there's any tricks like, acclimation box usage - lock up the female for a week or using mirror to trick females etc. Not intending to be rude, but 11% of your viewers didn't stick around because you can just read it off anywhere with that kind of info.

6:00 Do you usually feed this much consider the amount of fish in the tank? I think it is a little too much by my standard. Do you run into water quality problem by feeding like this?

Will the black one and orange one pair together if I get them young?

I have two juvenile clowns but one is a ocellaris frostbite clown (slightly bigger) and one is a percula Picasso clown. They get along however they do stay in opposite ends for the most part. They do swim together sometimes however the larger one does (very rarely) Chase the percula. They have been together for a month and half now. I would love for them to pair. How long does it usually take? Would they need to get older and grow first?

One of my 10 year old clowns died. the smaller (male) of the two. So I went out and purchased the smallest of the new clown fish the local FS had. My Tank is 330 gallon 42" tall x 5ft x 30" , I simply took the net with the new clown and released it very close to the old established clown. They circled each other for a few minutes then paired. Under 5 minutes. The only thing different on the new pair is they move around the tank as a pair where before they stayed in one spot inside a cupped reef area. Also the young clowns change sex but they wont if older. So I have my Male/Female pair back.

Hi bro I have a question. I have 3 baby blackstorm clown fish. 2 are mine and one is for my son. Can I keep them together for 2 months or less? I actually bought one first from a different place. And the other 2 I recently got them. They are around the same age.

What if you didn't get them as hatchlings

I have two black storms a month ago. They are babies. It’s been about a month or two since I added them to my new 15g tank. It doesn’t seem like they are paired. They stay separate and when I feed the bigger one attacks the smaller. Any technique to get them paired ? How can you tell if they are paired? This sucks :(

Not correct, I have paired my mature Darwin clown with a baby storm clown. It’s maybe by luck but there’s nothing to say it doesn’t work at all!

This guy just told us to inbreed our dogs 🐕🙄
