The manual says to tighten the tensioner chain guide bolts with the T40 to 12.5ftlbs, not 20ftlbs. After my cylinder head cracked where that bolt goes, I decided to download the manual. So now I need a new cylinder head.

Thank you for all your helpful and interesting videos. I'm just putting new timing chains in my 2004 Dakota. When i put the camshaft chains on, the two black links are not exactly center in the slot windows. I really can move the one tooth back or forth. they end up either on one end of the slot or the other. What do you recommend? thank you

Second brand new kit. The second one was from you guys. Still to much slack in the passenger side chain. I see this problem everywhere with no solution. Any advise?

I a new timing chain set and my cam chains don't have a 2 double black links only one on each end

What if your new cam chain only have 1 blank link on each end ?

Does the tensioner puts pressure on the guide as soon as you remove the release pin? Because when I remove the pic from the tensioner, it does nos reach the guides.

sounds like it may need to be replaced if its not extending far enough to do what it showed when he unpinned them.

Question more than a comment, 2009 Ram 1500 4.7 L, 16 spark plugs, how many camshaft positioning sensors does this unit have, some say one, others say two. have replaced one camshaft sensor and crank sensor, still getting the camshaft sensor code, cleared it several times prior to replacement, once replacement was completed still getting code and it will not clear. any help is appreciated. thanks

I used the cloyes kit the guides broke in half not too impressed I have to do it again

I'm on the 3rd try in 3 years. First 2, the secondary chains stretched till it jumped time. As you may or may not know, bad things happen with interference engines when the timing jumps. ( only bent valves might be considered to be lucky ) I just pulled the cover yesterday to surprisingly find the primary guide factory mount let loose. (guide teflon was just lying there out of position off the mount!) Also, opposite side teflon is missing off the mount. Some part, not sure yet because that's where I left off, got caught up on right secondary & polished the outside edge of chain & gouged the outside of the sensor sprocket. My first kit lasted just 11 months! Fortunately, it was still under warranty. This time around I got 18 months out of it. Warranty expired😒
