Worked on carts well over 10 years and those DS carts got the bag plastic taken out and I cut holes with a hole saw unless it was a total rebuild to replace the top leaf spring hanger bushings.

I thought about doing that, but I'm taking the body off anyway for more work.

I just did the bushings on the rear of my 2015 Precedent. That captured bolt problem isn't there as they moved the shackle lower on the frame and the bolts are accessible. Thanks for your video, I wasn't entirely sure how hard this was going to be. The front bushings on the leaf were a bit hard to align. It took some pry bar and a bottle jack to push it into the right spot.

I drilled a small hole in the body to remove the bolt to the inside. After you put the lining back in you don’t see the hole and when you change the bushings again the hole is there. It doesn’t hurt anything. Used a hole saw to drill the hole.

Oh, so the hole you drilled is behind that lining that golf bags would normally rest on, correct??

In the storage area under the seat. The plastic liner is held in by push pins, just pull it out and that will give you access. I used a small hole saw. I actually did the same thing to get the the top bolts of the rear shocks when I replaced them.

@@billmackey1072 That's exactly what I did, and it worked like a champ! The one thing I didn't figure out in the rear until about 1/2 way through the job was to release the brakes! Made it so much easier to align the new set up. I think I developed new neck and shoulder muscles I haven't used in years! :)

Great work Jason, it’s amazing what a few simple parts and a little elbow grease can do to tighten up that suspension. It was laughable how you had to lift the body just to remove that bolt🤣. That’s some genius engineering right there😂. Also those rims you bought look awesome!

@@rudystabe5266 Don't remember off the top of my head. I bought them on ebay and the seller had a chart. These were the biggest ones that fit without a lift kit, which turned out to be untrue. The front ones rubbed when I turned real short, so I made a 3/4" spacer for the front leaf spring. That helped, but it still rubs occasionally under the right circumstances. If you are buying and absolutely don't want to modify the cart, I would buy the next size smaller than the chart shows.

The front is a bit tougher. Urethane bushing don't push in nearly as easy as the rubber leaf spring rears

I started with the front end of my club card the leaf spring bushes in the front was good by the control arm bushing had to be replaced pretty decent job not too hard they're real little spring I started today I took all the screws out there would be plenty of WD-40 and the both arrested in I can't get them out tomorrow I'll try to cut them off pain in the ass

Excellent video! We have a darn near mint condition '99 with the back seat, and after greasing the pistons, I kept wondering what the knocking sound was in the rear every time I made a turn. The bushings are definitely gone! Question: Is it worth drilling an access hole where that reversed bolt is, and finding a rubber plug (or something similar) to cover it until it needs servicing again??

I will drill holes next time. Mine has a removable plastic well liner, so I won't even need the plugs. I've since found out that is what most people do.

@@sparksfireandbalingwire8467 Yeah, I just read a post from Bill Mackey about 6 or 7 posts down from mine where he brought that up. I have the same liner, so I'll just drill out an access hole for that bolt, and just put the liner back in. Good stuff!!

Do you think, given the relative light weight of a golf cart, that you could lift both the front and rear by getting some longer (longer by 1") shackles? With lift kits going for $300+, this would seem an easy and inexpensive way to lift a cart.

Could probably gain a little lift in the rear that way, but there are no shackles on the front suspension.
