Please note that this golf cart reaches a top speed of 23mph, any golf cart you purchase from CC will be limited to 19mph. This cart was not lifted when purchased and as a result of adding a lift to a non lifted cart, the top speed as well as acceleration both increased because of the larger circumference of the 23" tires as opposed to the stock size tires.
This was a little video I threw together to show the performance of my 2020 Club Car Onward HP lithium. I hope this helps answer some questions you may have if you are interested in one of these. If you have any additional questions, please let me know and I'll do my best to answer anything I can.

No problem! Just make sure you read the description. It was well after I made this video that I realized my cart was faster than it should be. It was because I added the lift to a nonlifted cart and bigger tires increased my top speed. You won't get 23mph out of a regular cart, only about 19mph.

Just a heads-up, the top speed will be 19mph, not 23 like mine. Mind was increased in speed by mistake, I found that out later and CC will not do that on purpose. I kinda got lucky. Just don't want you to be disappointed. Otherwise it's a great cart!

Hello there nice information for some folks interested in a common cart. However, I bought a cart I’m so glad I found, that you don’t see around very often, with less than a handful in the 55+community we live in called Solivida, in Central Florida. It’s called a Tomberlin E-Merge SS Coupe, that’s a 48 volt AC powered by 8, T-105, Trojan Deep Cycle Acid Batteries. That comes with a few items not available on any others. First is hydraulic four wheel brakes, with drilled an slotted disks in front, a DOT safety glass tinted windshield and wiper. Three way safety belts and Power Steering, with a custom steering wheel with automotive type key switch with locking steering column, plus fow/rev, Hi/low speed controls up near the key, all LED lights with hi-low beams and tail/stop lights with a third brake light up top in the color matched roof. Side mirrors and center rear view. Plus it has four wheel adjustable coil-over suspension, independent in front with trailing beam live axle in the rear. There’s also a built in Charger with BlueTooth monitoring. The controller is a 450 watt controller, that allows the quickest 0-25 mph in the industry, that walks away from my wife’s EzeGo TXT 72 volt, that leaps off the line, but then mine walks right by! Plus mine handles like a GoCart, that I can actually drift on concrete! Even with the 235/50-12 tires I have. I’ve had it now for 2 years and 6 months, had three issues fix on warranty, first was steering knuckle stripped and was actually fix at the factory in Leesburg FL! Where I got to trailer it up and watch them diagnose on a lift and fix. I begged the lead tech to boost it up but he could not, but did tell me the owners cart, just like mine but one year newer, with a custom paint job hits 38 mph!!! But is not as quick as mine to about 5-7 mph, but then it GOES! They had to change the gears and boost the controller to 600 watts!! The second was the charger shorted and cooked the batteries, that the dealer replace the charger on warranty, but not the batteries, because they still showed a charge, but never fully returned even with the new charger. So after a week I ended up going directly to the Trojan Shop/Distribution Warehouse, to talk to the service man/tech, that told me to go ahead and bring them up, with my bill of sale and wanted to know the dealers name I bought the cart off. I ended up bringing the 8 batteries, at 78 lbs each in my truck and dropped them off for testing. The manager called me in three days to tell me the batteries were in fact cooked, he had talked to the dealer that said exactly what I had told him, so he told me to come up to get 8 brand new batteries at NO COST! I had asked him about the GMB and lithium batteries Trojan has as an upgrade cost, he told me the glass mat were $800 more and the lithium was $2.400 MORE! My cart cost me $9980, in May 2018. The newer ones look the same, just different colors, comes with a bigger touch screen speedo odometer and backup camera! Where as mine just has a speedometer and odometer, that now has 4,900 miles! The longest I’ve ever driven on one charge, was over two days where I forgot to plug in the night between, where I ended up getting home on a blinking battery light, at full power but made it home. The odometer, that I reset every time I plug in, it read 36 miles total in those two days, running around at 20-25 mph! There’s a new Tomberlin with a factory ling travel suspension lift kit, with bigger wheels tires at 14” wheels with 205/50-14 radial tires! The biggest advantage of the lithium batteries are no maintenance or water! Plus a lot less weight. But they are way to expensive for now! Oh plus you can now get solar roof panels !

Carl Spackler well I’ve had it for 2 years 6mo. put just over 5,000 miles on it and the most expensive parts are still covered. I plan on trading in for a new cart every 4 years anyway. Parts for all carts are expensive nowadays, go see the prices on Yamaha parts! As far as getting the parts that is no longer an issue with Pacer in the picture and the warehouse full of parts in Leesburg,FL. Just over an hour from my home. Try driving one, you won’t want to get back in your ordinary golf cart.

Thank you! I have learned that the top speed will be 19mph if you purchase one, not 23 like this one. That only happened because my dealer put the lift kit with bigger tires on a non-lifted cart. Just so you know, if you buy one of these, the top speed will be around 19mph. Mine does 23 because it was not lifted so it was programed to do 19mph with smaller tires. Once the bigger tires were installed, the top speed went up a little. Club Car wasn't too happy about this. Just don't want to mislead anyone. I found out why it was faster after making the video.

I agree about the range. I had a gas cart years ago and there was absolutely no worries about range. It held about 5 gallons of gas and if you filled it all the way up, it would last over a month of heavy daily use. I liked this one because of how quiet it was but in the real world, gas is still the way to go.

Loved the Video. I bought a i40L and my only issue with it is in the handling. With 4 people In the cart, it has a tendency to wonder to the left and right at higher speeds. I think it has something to do with the placement of the rear seat. The centerline if the back seat is aft if the rear axel and I think that may be causing the front end to lift. Have you performed any tests with passengers in the back seat?

There is a lot to be said about not having to do any maintenance. Oh, and I just recently put different tires and wheels on it as well. My old dog loves it! We flip the rear seat down and throw her bed on it. She will literally ride for hours!

Very well done review buddy... thank you. A really well set up rig. I think this is clearly the best way to go over EZ-Go or any other electric car/cart. Performance ( speed is excellent) and really let’s you do more than drive golf courses at 13mph. Really sharp looking and tastefully crafted. Range is limited as with all electric carts/ vehicles a d limits the utility of the vehicle for anything other than golfing for the mist part. I admit a prejudice to gas motors for speed, range, reliability, durability and low maintenance. I have two 2017 Yamaha gas carts we keep in Belize... not for golf but hauling gear from house to boat and back... and in town for supplies or meals. All dirt roads and beach sand with very little tarmac. I have a trustworthy mechanic on Ambergris Cay maintain them and our boat. They are used often.... family, friends and guests. A set of tires, oil changes and some canvas repair ( salt air) and they still do about 25 mph, about / 150 mile range. You can’t kill em.’ They cast me about $12,000 back them with a bunch or after-market things like leather, audio, LEDs. Yamahas come with 4-wheel independent suspension... lift kit and 12/ rims... 30 in tires and street legal gear. I just ordered my wife a 2022 ( probably sob’t get it until Dec. with the supply system screwed up my our fools in office now. Yamaha Drive 2... adventure sport gas. All bells and whistles plus a. Few aftermarket stuff... $14,800.
@danielandrews9767
@danielandrews9767 2 жыл бұрын
I 100% agree with everything you just said. If I buy another one, it will be a gas Yamaha and just for the smoother riding suspension. I just sold this cart and I did absolutely love it, but the ride off road was still rough. Not as bad as my EZ-GO with its solid one piece suspension setup, but still room for some much needed improvements. Just before I sold it, I went to the dealership I purchased it from and they did not have a single new unit on the showroom floor. You can barely buy a new car, a lawnmower, a golf cart or anything else right now. I guess that's what happens when you have a fake president in office. Things won't get any better for a while so if you can get your hands on a new unit, you should do it! Thanks for watching the video. Oh, and this top speed of 23 mph is not what it should be doing. It should only go 19, but lifting a stock golf cart that goes 19mph will increase your top speed when you put 23" tires on it.

@danielandrews9767 3 жыл бұрын
So just to let you know, I have been meaning to make another video about this particular golf cart. There is a reason that it accelerates so quickly and does 23mph. It should not do that and any CC Golf cart that you buy will not have this same performance. In the video, I mentioned that when I purchased this gc, it was not lifted. The dealership put the lift on for me. Long story short, the reason it is faster than it should be is it was set to "sport" mode as a nonlifted gc. When they put the 23" tires on it, that increased the top speed, and since the motor produces so much torque, it also increased the acceleration as well. CC was not too happy about them putting a lift on this cart because they do not want their carts going over 19mph. Just something to keep in mind before you go to a dealer and wonder why theirs doesn't seem as fast as this one. They are not supposed to be this fast. I hope that doesn't deture you from purchasing one. It has been an excellent gc but it was not designed by CC to be this fast.

@@randbassman I noticed the ghost discharge too, in our case it's not a problem because I just leave it plugged in and use it to drive around town. Great video! Sweet cart! I was set on the Li-On, but ended up getting the FLA HP version. Availability and price were the factors for me. It was so hard to find dealers with the Li-On ‘s and none wanted to deal. I was able to get the HP for about $2,800 less than any dealer with a Li-On so I figured I could always change to Lithium battlers later when these are due. I’m happy with the purchase, but had to install an exhaust fan in my garage because hydrogen off gas was making its way into the house and causing my CO2 alarms to go wild....something you’ll never need to worry about. I haven’t been able to do a full test like you, but the longest drive I had was 14.5 miles at 10mph average speed. That took it down to 80% SOC. I’ll try riding down to 50% one day and let you know the results. Again awesome cart! Thanks for making the video!

That is interesting about the hydrogen gas. My parents have a club car with FLA batteries and I dont think they have ever had that problem. You will definitely love the HP version! My father wants to upgrade his motor and speed controller so bad but at the same time, doesn't want to spend the money. At least when you purchase the cart with those upgrades, you only have to pay for it once. When I did my range test, I tried to keep it at 15mph but found that I was averaging closer to 18mph most of the time. It has definitely turned out to be one of my favorite "toys." I've had several side by side vehicles and fourwheelers but the fact that I can drive around and not listen to an engine was what sold me. Keep in touch, I appreciate your reply and look forward to hearing more about yours.

Hello Daniel! First time viewer here, that appreciates all you have done to show us all about your new lithium powered cart. I’m not sure if you have ever heard of the manufacturer of my cart, Tomberlin, that’s a premium cart loaded with features. Like safety glass DOT windshield with wiper, all LED lights, with hi/low beam, turn, stop and park. Along with automotive type key with all the controls, forward/reverse, hi/low speed up across from the turn signals stork, horn button within easy reach. Four wheel hydraulic brakes with drilled/slotted disks in front, along with independent adj. coil over double A arms front suspension. With adj. coil over rear. It’s a 48 volt AC, powered by 8, 6 volt Trojan Deep Cycle T 105 wet batteries. With built in charger and 450 watt controller. The cart has a very cool unique “Jeep” type of look to it that gets compliments all the time. Now as far as power an speed goes, oh it’s not the fastest, no, but if you compare carts from every manufacturer that I’ve test driven? Yes I’ve never driven a stock from a factory/dealer, that can go 25-27 mph on the included speedometer, with odometer ( mine has just over 4,900 trouble two warranty covered issues in those miles), every other cart that’s faster is due to tuning, or big custom motors. With get up and go better than most, from 0-25. The best part is the handling, it’s like a go cart! I can actually drift my cart! I’ve also gone off road/trail, climbed hills that weren’t too easy to walk up without your hand in front of you! I have nice wide all terrain tires, size 235/50-12. I paid $9,980 for it in June 2018, with two issues mentioned above. One was the steering universal, that connects the power steering box output shaft to the steering rack, had stripped its splines on the inside. That was fixed just over an hour from my home, here in Florida, at the factory warehouse shop! The other was the built in charger overcooked the batteries, that was all covered under warranty. Tomberlin has lithium batteries coming soon! That are a cool idea for bragging rights, but at the current cost? Sure they can last possibly twice as long, never need maint, cleaning and distilled water added regularly, but that’s also an advantage of GMA batteries that require no maintenance, but cost about 30-40% more than wet batteries. But the lithium batteries cost 4-6 TIMES the price of led/acid tech batteries. I know now when the time comes for new batteries, in both mine an my wife’s EZ-Go TXT 72 cart, I will get the glass mat tech batteries! At first I wanted a gas powered cart, really liked the new Yamaha Quiet Tech, but when I found out the top speed was only 22, and to raise that was only done with software and laptop? That’s very hard to find, I gave up on that idea, but the Yamaha gas cart was the best riding most comfortable cart I’ve ever driven, that’s because it’s the only cart with 4 wheel independent coil over suspension. Oh well have fun and stay safe and healthy!

Great video. Thanks for sharing Daniel. What exactly did you have to do or have configured/tuned from a settings profile perspective to achieve 23MPH? I have a brand new 2020 ClubCar Onward 4 Lifted Lithium Ion HP cart with the upgraded 14” wheels / 23” tires and other accessories being delivered this week 7/27 est. What should I tell the dealer at time of delivery for settings? Speed code, style and push peddle braking configuration?
@danielandrews9767
@danielandrews9767 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Doug, This was the way the dealer had it configured when it was on the showroom floor. He orders all of his in "sport mode." There is a little grey area here that I'm not quite sure of. When you build your cart online, they do not ask what driving mode you want it in and since mine was already in sport mode while it was at the dealership, I'm not 100% sure who you need to tell in order to have it set up with your preferred setting. Best bet would be to let the dealership know which mode you want incase it has to be ordered from Club Car that way. I was under the impression that the dealership can make those changes by hooking up to the port under the dash with some kind of tuning device, however I cannot confirm that since mine was set up this way at time of purchase. My regenerative breaking was also set up as shown in the video. I can say however that mine is totally stock and if you are getting the HP Lithium version, yours should be just as fast as mine as long as it is set to sport mode. I guess if anything, have them watch my video where I show the regenerative breaking and the top speed and they should know how to have yours dialed in that way.

@danielandrews9767
@danielandrews9767 3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure of the size lift but I believe it is 6". If you were to order a lifted cart from CC, this is the size lift it will come with. As far as the tires and wheels, the tires are 23"x10.5"x14". These were a factory option in 2020 but I have recently looked at their website and these wheels are not offered anymore. I recently got rid of these 14" wheels (and tires) and went with a 12" wheel. These golf carts ride pretty rough if you are by yourself, without much weight in them so by going with a smaller wheel and a 23" tire on a 12" wheel, it makes for a bit of a softer ride, especially if you let a little air pressure out of the tire.

Thx for the video. I had 2022 EZGO S4 V72 for approximately 4 weeks and returned it as automatic braking would not activate when the batteries were 100% charged. This was a big problem for me as I have 2 miles of downhill(1100ft) to my golf course. Halfway down smoke was coming from the brakes. My question is will the CC HP LI have the same issue as with the EZGO or will I have automatic braking at 100%? Thx.
@danielandrews9767
@danielandrews9767 2 жыл бұрын
Wow! That is crazy! So even at 100% state of charge, you still have regen-breaking. I never had an issue on hills, not going up or down. Plenty of power going up and with the way the regenerative breaking works with this cart, you'll actually have to use the accelerator to move downhill. There is a break resistor underneath the front cowl that will be getting hot, but that is what it is there for and it burns off that electricity extremely efficiently. That said, I definitely have not had a 2 mile stretch at 1100ft gain or loss in altitude but from what I have seen, I would feel completely comfortable trying that out. I think it would perform perfectly on that. As with any battery powered cart, you still are limited by range and that climb will probably eat up a lot of battery, but that's just part of an electric cart. I am not super impressed with the range of this cart. I really feel like it should go 40-50 miles for the cost, but it will only do about half of that comfortably and that's with just me on it. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

This is a great video considering you did this with a phone. It looks like a very nice cart, however club car is nuts with their pricing. I priced one of these out in 2023 with the radio and some other things. It was close to $18,000. That's the definition of insanity. I'm looking seriously at the Bintelli. With lithium batteries, a glass windshield with a windshield wiper, Bluetooth stereo four speakers. It's faster at 35 to 40 mph. And has approximately a 30 to 40 mi range. And priced out at just a shade over 13 grand. You did a great job on this video. That's a great looking cart but for five grand less I can get something with more equipment on it. Plus the fact that it is truly street legal. When you buy one they actually register it and put a plate on it. That's in South Carolina however. Where they are made.

Great information Daniel. We ordered 2022 onward 4 lithium today, hoping it arrives late November. If we had built ground up, probably 4-6 months out. Thanks again for putting this together; very informative and confirms our decision to go with CC.
@danielandrews9767
@danielandrews9767 2 жыл бұрын
Hi George, I have not personally heard of anyone selling codes to increase the top speed of their cart, however I did not look for any type of speed increase myself. I will tell you that CC is very cautious that none of their carts go over 19 mph. It is a liability and when they saw this video, they were not too happy. Mine was faster because it was set to go 19mph as a nonlifted cart. When the lift was added, the larger tire size bumped my top speed up about 4-5mph. I'm not sure where to tell you to look but I would think by now, someone would have probably cracked their code and created a program that will increase top speed. That's how it's always been with people hopping up cars and trucks. When the cars and trucks are new, nobody can do much with their computer system because dealers don't want people messing with them. CC will no doubt be the same way but it's only a matter of time before someone gets past it. Just keep in mind that once you do that, your factory warranty will be void. You may want to check with some CC forums, you can usually find some amazing information on those and learn a whole lot. I would do a good bit of research on anything you do to your cart that is not performed by CC. I wish I had a better answer for you but I really would recommend the forums.

There are currently three electric Onward models available and one gas version. The easiest way to identify the three different electric models will be to look at the decal over the rear fender. They will read as follows... "Onward" This will be the base model. It will have traditional batteries under the seat and will not have the upgraded motor or speed controller. "Onward HP" This will be the next level up over the base model. HP stands for "High Performance" It will still have traditional batteries but will have the addition of upgraded 375 amp speed controller and upgraded brushless motor. "Onward HP Li-Ion" This is the top of the line electric cart that features the upgraded motor and 375 amp speed controller along with the Lithium battery. This is the model I have and show in the video. The best part about it is it is truly maintenance free and has a lot of speed and power. You will also see some golf carts with "Special Edition" logo on them. These can come in gas or any of the three electric models mentioned. This refers to a paint color or ascetic difference that sets them apart from the standard color options. I hope this helps.

Your top speed will be around 19mph. Mine does 23 but that was from an ordered mistake. CC governs them at 19mph. Besides that, yes you can expect the same results. The club cars ride better than ez-go. They are still not the smoothest ride, but a major improvement over ez-go because of their suspension design. You'll be happy with the cart. Just realize that you are going to be limited by range regardless of what battery option you go with but you will literally have no maintenance and a super quiet and very powerful cart.

@@danielandrews9767 this is a great question and answer. I had someone tell me CC’s lithium isn’t up to par with the Samsung EZGO’s. @danielandrews9767
@danielandrews9767 2 жыл бұрын
@@bamafan1612 So this is where you are really going to have to weigh your options. I've had an ez-go and of course the CC in the video and they are both excellent products. The batteries in both are very good products and I wouldn't worry too much about the difference in the length of warranty. These companies use "6 years" or "8 years" for marketing because it sounds like a long time, and it is a long time. The truth is, these batteries will most likely last 12-15 years. I have cheap Chinese Lithium batteries that I use with my power tools, they are already 8 years old, I abuse the heck out of them and the only one I damaged was my fault for over discharging it. I definitely like the aluminum frame and if you live near a salty environment, I would look no further than CC. However, ez-go will let you add a second battery pack. Yea, it's going to cost more, but more range is what everyone wants in their electric cart and I would have happily paid extra to double my range. Either way you go, I think you'll be happy. I think it will just come down to getting behind the wheel of them and trying them out for yourself. I really can't recommend one over the other.

Hello do you think it’s better to get the golf cart brand new or used if new what are the advantages
@danielandrews9767
@danielandrews9767 3 жыл бұрын
New and used both have their advantages and disadvantages. If you go with new, you get to decide what options you want, what color, etc. You can get anything offered by the company and you also get a warranty. However, this all comes at a very premium price. Buying a used cart will definitely save you some money but you may find yourself at a dealership looking to purchase any additional options that didn't come with your used cart. On the flip side, you may luck out and find a cart with a lot of options and those options generally do not add a lot of money on top of a used cart. If you go electric, make sure that the batteries are good or if they are old, that is reflected in the price of the cart. Lithium powered carts are still fairly new to the market and are definitely harder to come by. The main advantage of going with a new cart is that you are the original owner. You will know how well the cart has been maintained. You can get it set up the way you want it and it will be covered by a manufacturer warranty, just incase something isn't right. I prefer to buy "new" myself, however most golf carts are pretty well taken care of. That's one reason they tend to hold value better than ATV's and side by side vehicles.

@danielandrews9767 3 жыл бұрын
I have definitely noticed this same thing. They stay on very dimly, you almost don't notice unless you really are looking closely at in while its parked in a dark area. I have not had an issue where I feel they are draining the battery. LED lights pull very little amperage even when they are turned on and many times when you see LED's that are shining softly when they are turned off, it is caused by residual power. A direct connection to a battery source is not needed for them to glow like this and most likely the soft glow is coming from a capacitor. If you feel you are loose power that quickly, i would definitely have it looked at by a technician. If you have other accessories, maybe a radio or additional lighting, that would be a more logical explanation to me than the soft glow of your LED's. Hope this helps!

I have a 2020 Onward Lithium. I have regular size tires and my cart goes top speed about 19. Do all Lithium carts come this the large motor and how do I get mine to be set to the top speed. Thanks for the help Jerry
@danielandrews9767
@danielandrews9767 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jerry If you have a 2020 Onward lithium, you already have the upgraded motor and 375 amp speed controller. I would double check with the dealership and make sure that it is programed to "sport mode." Secondly, tires will make a difference in your top speed for sure. The larger the tire, the faster your cart will be at top speed as long as you have enough torque from your motor to turn them. In your case with the HP Lithium, you will definitely have enough torque. Of course to fit the 23" tall tires, you will need to put a lift on your cart.

That’s crazy we have always been the fastest cart in our neighborhood and we have the same one as yours the 2020 same color with a lift and our has regular batters with a chip and a race motor and ours has hit 32 on a straight but the acceleration off the start is a bit slow

@@ethaneisen3694 I know there is a company called "plum quick" or something like that. They specialize in high performance motors and hold many records on some of their carts that they build. I know some motors they build are more for speed while others are more for torque. It may be worth giving them a call or a reputable company at least and see if there would be anything you can do to increase your acceleration too. Just curious, does your golf cart drain the batteries pretty quickly when driving that fast?

How do I change my cart to sport mode?
@karbs76
@karbs76 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Daniel, I went to a CC dealer . First they tell me the lithium car can’t go faster than 19 unless you change the gears. How does yours go 23? Also you can’t add additional batteries to it to get more range they said. Is this true ? they also told me they can adjust the gov on the gas onward to get it to about 25. Last, what’s the difference between DOT windshield and regular one? Thanks man
@danielandrews9767
@danielandrews9767 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Marc. So as far as speed goes, mine is totally stock. No gear changes, no additional parts or upgrades. It is just a lifted HP Li-Ion version that is set to sport mode. I have also read that 19mph is the top speed but for some reason, mine does 23. I really don't have any explanation to this. Maybe with the taller tires, the final drive speed is faster. As far as adding additional batteries, this is not an option with CC like it is with EZ-GO. I believe CC and EZ-GO are the only reputable companies making lithium carts right now. From what I have researched, you can double your batteries on the EZ-GO, but not the CC. If you do go with gas and you want more speed, you can usually adjust the throttle linkage. I would not ever recommend adjusting the govenor on the engine and yes, there is a difference in linkage and the govenor. The govenor is a safety device built internally and is designed to keep you from self destruction of the engine. As far as the windshield goes, I went with the DOT windshield for three reasons. 1) It is slightly thicker and stronger, I have seen too many regular windshields crack. 2) It has real hinges instead of the flexable center part where it folds, this will ensure it last longer. 3) It comes in contact with the hood of the cart and has a gasket (or weather seal) that prevents water and wind from coming through between the hood and the windshield. My old cart had a gap there and rain and cold air would come through there. Not fun.

Daniel Andrews ok I meant the throttle not the gov. The Atlas wheels look good with the black body. I’m back and forth between those and the Mercury wheels. U happy with the wheels.? I think I’m going to get the dot windshield too. Is it tinted? Thank!
@danielandrews9767
@danielandrews9767 3 жыл бұрын
@@karbs76 I really liked the Atlas wheels but I traded them for a set of black aftermarket wheels and some more aggressive tires. Now I have black on black and it looks awesome! I would recommend spending the extra money and going with the DOT windshield. It does not come tinted, only the regular windshields are available tinted and I don't like tinted because if you want to fold it down at night, you have two layers of tinted windshield to look through in order to see what is directly in front of you. I would rather just wear sunglasses and have a nontinted windshield.

Daniel Andrews did you stay with 23” tires or go bigger? what did you select for aftermarket rims?
@danielandrews9767
@danielandrews9767 3 жыл бұрын
@@karbs76 Yes, still have 23" tall tires, kept the tire size the same. If you have some way I can send you pictures, ill send some your way. Not sure of the brand of wheel but ill look when I get home. I did however go from a 14" rim to a 12" rim. Tires have a taller sidewall and this gives the golf cart a bit of a softer ride. The more aggressive tires do ride a little rough on paved surfaces but are amazing when offroad.

Sir, got a quick question. I have a 1500w Electric ATV 48v with 4x12v 20ah batteries in series. Do you think If i purchased one 48v 30ah lithium ion battery that it could properly run the ATV?
@danielandrews9767
@danielandrews9767 3 жыл бұрын
It will run it but when you change from lead acid, regardless if the batteries are AGM, FLA or gel, you will have to get a speed controller that has a setting for Lithium batteries or you will need to get a battery pack with a (BMS) Battery management system. Batteries with built in BMS are common. Just make sure you have a system that will keep you from over-discharging your Lithium battery. You don't want to turn you new battery into an expensive paperweight. Secondly, make sure you have the proper charger if you purchase this Lithium battery. Charging with an incorrect charger can be dangerous. Other than that, you should be just fine. I did a similar swap with an electric scooter and it worked just fine.
@Bennysnamehere
@Bennysnamehere 3 жыл бұрын
@@danielandrews9767 Thank you that was a great help. I was thinking of replacing the acid with ONE 48v Relion Lithium Ion battery. Any thoughts on that? Also, is there a charger you recommend? I was thinking of leaving the battery in the ATV and linking the battery with Ring clips to charge it directly to the wall outlet. Thank you again
@danielandrews9767
@danielandrews9767 3 жыл бұрын
@@Bennysnamehere You can definitely charge your battery that way and you will be just fine. It's slightly unconventional but nothing wrong with doing it that way. The battery that you are looking at from Relion is a Lithium iron phosphate battery which is a bit different from just a regular Lithium Ion battery. It's just a different chemistry. You are actually getting "in my opinion" a better quality battery with a slightly larger physical battery size. There are some advantages with using LiFePO4 batteries but just make sure you have the physical room for it in your ATV as it can be a bit bigger than Lithium Ion. You'll pay more for it but it should last a really long time and those do have a built in BMS (if you are looking at the InSight GC2 48v). As for chargers, Dakota batteries makes a good charger that will properly charge LiFePO4 batteries to 48v. What I would recommend you do is get someone on the phone with Relion and see what they recommend. That may or may not make a difference with their warranty system. They may have a particular charger that they want you to use to uphold your battery warranty.

Lol, well sorry about having to spend 15k on a new cart! No doubt there are cheaper ways to go but there is no easier golf cart to own than one with a Lithium battery setup. The wheels were one of two options available from Club Car when you chose the lifted version. I did build this on their website over a year ago so maybe they do not offer them anymore. I am actually on my second set of tires and wheels and will soon be on my third. No issue with any of them, just trying different tires and wheels until I find some that perfectly fit my needs.
