Back in the 80s a gay ex-seminarian acquaintance laughed when I defended the rumors about seminarians. He said it was rampant. I thought of how awful for all the healthy well meaning seminarians and priests to have to endure the scandals.

Doesn't surprise me at all (that there was no call for suppression of this book being published). Evil has become so pervasive in the world, that Satan is now strutting about, waving his baton like he's heading a big "sin parade." There is no longer a need for him to go about his evil agenda covertly anymore. In today's world (God help & forgive us), so many forms of sin are not only accepted, but celebrated --- Satan no longer needs to hide in the shadows while he goes about his unholy agenda. Anything goes nowadays, no matter how foul or offensive to God OR His people. Excuse me, I have to go say a rosary for forgiveness now (talking about this rurns my stomach & hurts my heart). 👎

One of my mom's friends has a son who wanted to become a priest, so he went to the local diocesan seminary (Los Angeles fyi) and stayed at their formation center for about 2 years. Eventually he was pressured into leaving (and told the Vegas rule to not say anything). Eventually we learned from him that he was the only person there who tried to pray the Rosary regularly, and he believed that he was one of the handful of straight men there

A priest in our diocese left the priesthood to marry another priest from a different diocese. The thought that he was offering the sacrifice of the mass and committing homosexual acts is something I cannot erase from my brain. Our Lord's heart must be consoled for these horrific sins. @@riafraise I do not believe it is a sin. The sacraments are not bound by the priest's state of his soul. We did not know about this priest while he was celebrating the mass and administering the sacraments. We really never know with any priest. I will admit I was concerned at first if my sins had been forgiven in confession once I heard about him. But someone explained it to me.

I was in a seminary in Australia in the late 80s and there was certainly undercover homosexuality among priests and seminarians, even the priests who formed the young men. I've heard reports of the problem going back to the early 60s, possibly even earlier 😔

There was a priest in my parish and catholic school Fr John Hooper he would ice skate with us at a local pond manly man great priest he died young early 40s 50 years later I still remember him there is a chapel named after him in Balmd what a great priest he was will never forget him

Sadly, no surprises for me here in Ireland. Maynooth as we refer to the national seminary here in Ireland (the name of the town in which the seminary is based) in the 1970/80’s had homosexual carrying ons going on there, under President of the seminary Monsignor Michael Ledgwith….who wouldn’t you know, subsequently left the priesthood 🙄🙄😡😡😡. Anyway in these recent times the holy seminarians have to hide that they’re devout…they’re not allowed to kneel for the Consecration and the Rosary is frowned upon….so they shut up, and put up so they can get ordained. There’s two physical parts to Maynooth ….the old building which houses the seminary part and across the road is one of our national universities NUIM. National University of Ireland Maynooth. Naturally along with what I outlined, the seminarians are taught rubbishy theology…there seems to be more emphasis on psychology than theology…and believe me psychology which the authorities would hold in high regard is fair rubbish, so can you imagine what kind of theology they’re being taught? The professors back in the 1980s….Fr Enda Mc Donagh supposedly teaching moral theology, etc were very liberal, he was a darling of our national broadcaster RTÉ ….anyway I don’t expect the theology has improved since 🙄🙄🙄🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

@@jy7383 I know that at some point he did express his sorrow for the injuries suffered by the victims, but it is not to be seen in this document. There is also a news video of his physical response to a reporter on a sidewalk who asked his comment about the scandals. He was street savvy. And he showed his temper, but not in words. There was his quick exit into a cab.

My pastor kept his door locked and drank scotch and smoke cigars. Got him through seminary. He also prominently displayed a photo of him with an old girlfriend…. It helped.

@@chrisesparza3786 no, this is a old friend of mine- been ordained over 30 years now. He was at the pink palace, a.k.a. Saint Patrick’s seminary in Menlo Park. I have never met father Patrick, but I’ve heard that he’s quite good. I also understand he’s on leave from Saint Gall’s, at first I was concerned about that but I have friends who know him very well and they said he’s actually working in a diocese in Texas helping develop a Newman center. Perhaps he’s in Tyler Texas? I don’t really know.

This makes so much sense...no wonder my (poorly catechised) parents left the Catholic faith in the 90s and I have (at least) 2 Uncles who walked away from seminary studies--they longed to be priests (they did remain Catholic while my parents did not...) The aftershocks of abuse at the hands of Catholic priests echoes through my family to this very day... Now I am on the journey Home and not sure how I can ever bring this up to my family. Lord Jesus, have mercy on us all!

Thank you Dr Marshall for talking about this. This has been going on for DECADES in seminaries. I read the book, “Goodbye Good Men” back in the early 2000s which detailed the extent of this homosexual cancer in the Church where God-fearing men were turned away from the priesthood while gays were actively recruited. The book hit the nail on the head in ascribing the roots of the sexual abuse crisis in the Church as the active recruitment of gays into the priesthood. Over 95% of all sexual abuse claims have been of priests abusing young BOYS.

Greetings, I am Father Sergio Ayala, a Married Priest in the Greek-Melkite Catholic Rite (Church). After spending almost a decade in the late 1990's and early 2000's, myself and my fellow straight brothers in the Franciscan Order left due to our having refused to Dance at a retreat with the Homosexual Brethren who lived with all kinds of priviliges and disordered lifestyles that included their having boyfriends, despite professing the same vows. I left in temporary vows, they expired, met my holy wife, and was ordained in the Byzantine Rite. A Good Holy Married Priest is worth a more than a million active homosexual priests. I’ve been having thoughts of becoming a priest and surrendering my life to Jesus completely but I honestly don’t know of it is his will for me and because of all the stories and heresies I’ve been hearing and now with all this evil going on in the seminaries is starting to make me consider not going at all because I don’t think I could handle it and I would lose my sanity I just hope I make God proud so that I hopefully have a chance with him in eternity plz pray for me and thank u Dr Marshall for all ur great and informative videos, God bless u and everyone else here✝️🙏🏻

I will keep you in my prayers Jake and I would encourage you to go forward with your discernment. At least get into a seminary to see for yourself. If there is enough straight heterosexual traditional minded men in the Seminary then just stick together. Please send this to Bishop Calvo of the Diocese of Reno!!! He ordained a few gay men into our Diocese, and they got all the key positions. When that happened, oh how our Diocese went down the drain! My own parish priest is a HOMOSEXUAL! IT IS KNOWN THROUGHOUT ALL THE DIOCESE! Nobody does a thing, but everyone know it. Cowardice, apathy and indifference all mixed together! Our bishop is now Daniel Muggenborg. Bishop Calvo retired “for health reasons” over a year ago. Yes, unfortunately it appears that there is a strong homosexual influence in our diocese. It’s good to know homosexual Dan Horan is no longer keynoting the annual diocesan conference. Some progress.

It started after Vll. There is a book named UNGODLY RAGE by Donna Steichen through Ignatius Press, 1991 that explains what happened to the seminaries and parishes.

A very good young priest went from my parish, about 1981, to Rome to study. To everyone's surprise, he quit the opportunity and came home to the U.S. in a couple of months. I suspect he saw all the gay activity and didn't want to be a part of it.

The sad part is I'm really not that surprised being from Milwaukee where Archbishop Rebert Weakland admitted to gay relations and even used church funds to pay off someone. Lived off the Church's dime for 20 years after he resigned as archbishop. And the priest I served mass with as a boy later left the priesthood after his gay life and sexual assaults came to light. It has taken over 20 years since Weakland's resignation for the seminary in Milwaukee to start recovering.

I personally can relate to this bcos I had a similar experience in the mid eighties when I was in the Seminary in South Africa. We founded a movement of the like minded people to try and eliminate it but we were stopped in no time by I think you know who. I am now married with 3 children

Good for you ! It's not good for a man to be alone. God intended that men should marry and raise up a family for His glory, to showcase the sacrificial love of Christ for His Church . Amen 🙏 If any priest chooses to be celibate , that's between him and his God. It should never be compulsory or a precondition for a man to train to be a priest . It is this forced celibacy that has given rise to the sexual abuses of minors. It has in addition, unfortunately, given a sanctuary to pedophiles and homosexuals. May God protect His elect 🙏

@@ienn5398 Ummm any unmarried man is supposed to be celibate AND chaste whether they are training for the priesthood or not. Yes, it should be a precondition for a man to be celibate and have control of his appetites prior to training to be a priest. Forced celibacy is not the cause of sexual abuse. That is a LIE. The inability to control oneself is the cause of sexual abuse. It used to be a requirement that a man had to be practicing and living a chaste life before even being considered for joining the seminary. What allowed pedophiles and homosexuals into the priesthood was the relaxation of the requirements for those discerning the priesthood AND the fact that predators always flock towards positions of authority and power in order to abuse that position for their selfish motivations and appetites. Good priests are chaste men before they receive holy orders and remain chaste all their lives.

Taylor, I think the question here should be - "why do we believe that B16 wrote this book?" B16 was a very erudite and shrewd man who has nothing to loose by having these supposed post Mortem documents released. I find it troubling that there is no question of these documents, just because the consumers agree with the content. I think it's very improbable that they are authentic B16 documents. Can we dig into this a little more here with some investigative journalism?

@@janetplonka8110 Looking for an SSPX near me. I e-mailed an FSSP parish priest nearly 2 weeks ago, to ask what will happen to the FSSP if Francis bans the TLM? I have e-mailed him 2 more times, subsequently, and he has not replied. There is no FSSP or SSPX near me, so I need to move. I thought to contact the FSSP first. Either my 3 e-mails ended up in his SPAM folder, or he's just too busy with more important priorities to reply to me. Either way, it seems like a sign from Divine Providence to look elsewhere.

You just keep praying and never give up on God! Especially praying the rosary, holding the rosary like holding Mary’s hands, will comfort you on your way back to God. You can find traditional Latin Mass as Dr. Marshall always recommended. The mail is important, the mailman is just to deliver the mail. As long as he keeps the mail straight and crisp, not bending it when delivering to you, he is fine. Wish you will soon find your way back home to Catholicism. Hope this helps.

Public school did not serve my grandson well and he barely reads...For years I kept telling my daughter in law to put him in Catholic School and she refused, claiming it would indoctrinate him into the Gay World...My neighbors grandson, of the same age, went to Catholic School all his life...He reads like a wiz, but, he is as Gay as can be...The neighbors rub in our faces that their kid reads and ours struggles...We are much more prouder, that our BOY is all MAN and makes better money as a Maritime Welder working with his father...We avoid them so as not to be pushed into pointing out, that their thing wears nail polish...They are Catholic and mine don't even want to be baptized...We still watch the mass on EWTN and not only pray rosaries, but, I make beautiful expensive rosaries and give them away, encouraging the younger generations to pray the rosary...Specially the younger girls contemplating having an abortion...I may saved many lives with these rosaries...I've been giving them to unwed mothers for over 20 years...God bless Dr Taylor and all who read my comment...

Wow! Im listening to you on WOAI news radio 1200 in San Antonio. You are on the Glen Beck program. You used to be a protestant anglican priest now you are a rare catholic with a true understanding of church history and the true catholic church which is in a struggle with the false church in these last times. You have so many protestant listeners who want to be educated and informed on what is really going on in the church today. I follow you everyday for guidance. For me it's common sense. If people see how they can take advantage of a system to benefit themselves, they will do it. If a bank robber see that they can work for a bank, steal the money with more ease, and if caught, just get moved to another bank, we would have banks full of thieves. In that same way, if a pedophile sees they can become a priest, be with people as them, be closer to kids without questions, and if caught, just get relocated, what do you think they will do. Is a win win situation for them.

JPll should have met with and fired the head if the Roman seminaries. Multiple priests here in SC have told us what they had to go through being straight and orthodox. Then met with heads of seminaries in each country, fired them and let everyone know what was going on. People would have listened to him due to his popularity. But he chose to ignore everything he didn't want to hear.

I presume that Pope Benedict didn't address this as Pope, and chose instead to release this cowardly book, because he was part of the problem in not resolving this issue well before he became Pope and throughout his Pontificate. It's the same approach used by Cardinal Pell - upon his death, it's learned the was the shadow writer who trashes Pope Francis. Cowards, both of them. The problem certainly goes back to St. JPII Pontificate - and the approach back then was to move Priests around so their numbers wouldn't drastically decrease, and also to not shed light on a matter that would outrage Catholics. That's my take anyway.
