Floyd Mayweather weighs in on the GOAT debate: LeBron or Jordan? “I love LeBron, but one thing about Michael Jordan: he’s going to come out there every night to try and kill you," says Mayweather who likens Jordan's killer instinct to his own in the ring. Floyd adds that if LeBron was hanging with him, his mentality would be totally different.

Shannon you clearly don’t understand basketball. You should try coaching it and then you would have a better perspective. LeBron is a great player but there is No comparison to Jordan. LeBron has been a subpar defensive player most of his career. Yes he is a great scorer and passer but you have to have the whole package. He really only led the Cavs to a championship. Wade was really the leader of the Heat and the bubble championship is just that. LeBron was a great at keeping his guys focused and AD actually played at a high level. If they had to play the Clippers on their home floor without Covid they would have gotten smoked. The defense he played in the finals comeback down 3-1 was the best I have seen. Floyd is right that his killer instinct is often not there. Also, he can’t shoot free throws which is embarrassing. If you coached basketball you would realize what a big deal this is. You would look much smarter if you stopped this ridiculous comparison. I respect you and really like your take on things but you sound ridiculous when you try and make LeBron the goat. He is clearly top 5 but not in Jordan’s league.

Michael made every game personal. He wanted to not only win but embarrass the opponent team and make them feel insignificant. He would get on them in the court and tell them they are worthless and then make free throws with eyes closed. For Lebron it's just business so he can earn money and go back to his family and take care of his kids. He doesn't want enemies on the court because they could hurt him and end his career and hurt his earning at the end of the day. That's why he tries to be friends with everyone on the court to make sure they don't play dirty.

For example last year Lebron with Lakers had so many awful games where he would seem lost on the floor yet this year he is like a different person. He has different mental makeup than Jordan. Also Jordan played on both ends of the floor. Lebron saves himself on defeanse thats a fact.

Before than that bum Kyrie Irving cost Lebron James from winning ring by being hurt in the playoffs along with Kevin Love. Cleveland nor Lakers was not superstar teams when Lebron joined those team. @@josephwinslow7613 LOL. You say what superstar team and don't even mention LeBron joining the Heat. Lebron said him, Bosh and Wade were gonna win 7 championships. You don't make that type of claim unless your on a super team. Lakers weren't a super team when Bron joined, but what did he do after a single season after missing the playoffs? He traded the Lakers entire youth to get Anthony Davis. Lakers went from one of the youngest teams in the league to oldest in one season. Now with this Lakers squad Lebron is surrounded by 3 future hall of famers, Dwight Howard, Playoff Rondo and Anthony Davis. All players Lebron recruited. In Miami he also played with 3 hall of famers, Bosh, Wade and Allen. And if you watch old Jordan highlights, especially late 80's he used to take beatings driving to the hoop that no player today has come close to experiencing.

Killer instinct when everything else being equal at an elite level is taking that last dagger shot to win the game. Kobe / dame / jordan/ durant / curry ... all have it. And it has to do with one shooting ability and offensive repertoire to score at will. Lebron in his recent years have gotten a lot better at closing games but to me he has more of a facilitator pass first mentality. So when it comes to closing close games most people would take the guys i mentioned over lebron for that last shot. Hence the criticism of lebron not having killer instinct by critics because his skillset is not quipped to do so. He has gotten a lot better in recent years.

It goes well together with shooting ability but is independent of it. Durant does NOT have the killer instinct. He may have moments of it, as does LeBron and many others, but he doesn't have it night in, night out. That killer mentality is seen with Jordan, Kobe, Iverson, Larry Bird, and funny enough (intentional choice of words), good old Magic Johnson. Prime Derrick Rose, and Tracy McGrady had it also. A few examples, I'm sure there are more. Russell Westbrook for instance, has it. His shooting ability is questionable, yet he has that drive, to rip your throat out. Russ is a clear example to prove my argument, funnily enough against Durant of all people. Durant is nicknamed the 'Cupcake' for a reason.

Your wrong about him never destroying his opponent, but I'm so surprised at his opinion because He's actually the LBJ of boxing. He never had the natural talent but a student of the game and trained harder than anyone else in the business to compensate for that. Like Floyd is literally the LBJ of boxing because their are some that will never give him the nod over Ali. I'm just so surprised at Floyd it's like he just contradicted his own case as the greatest by saying LBJ ain't lol

I’m def team Lebron but I do agree it’s gets so frustrating knowing he can drive and score at will but so many times chooses not to. Not over the period of a season or two but a big majority of his career.

Bron I think has this perpetual fear of tarnishing his precious “legacy” and his idea of what would tarnish it is failing but it is an ill conceived idea. Missing a shot in the crucial moments of a game is something he fears as he sees it as potentially tarnishing his legacy. It is why he had his temper tantrum against the Celtics. On his drives to the rack he is confident the officials will allow him to bum rush his way to the hoop, all elbows and shoulders into his opponent with a guarantee no call against him and an easy unmissable layup/game winner. He has this sense of entitlement where he expects the foul call in his favor but never against him. He has no sense of reality in that he doesn’t recognize that his childlike temper tantrum tarnished his precious legacy more than a missed shot in clutch could, except of course in the eyes of his most rabid fans.

I agree. Westbrook would kill Curry in 1v1 street ball. But if I'm building an NBA team, i would draft Curry. Lebron is physically stronger than Jordan, but i would draft Jordan to build an NBA team around. If Jordan had as many all star teammates that Lebron (14 All star teammates in total) had in his career, Jordan would have 8 or 9 rings.
