If this was the first song that I would have heard by Band Maid ( without knowing them) I would have just skipped over this. But, now that I know everything that Kaboto has done up to now (and pre Band Maid) I love Cluppo so much more.

This is definitely City Pop sound. My eclectic tastes include City Pop so this is pleasant to listen to. For a taste of City Pop, the song people bring up the most is: "Plastic Love" but my current favorites are: "Anri - Last Summer Whisper", "Tomoko Aran - Midnight Pretenders", and a bunch of songs by Junko Ohashi like "Crystal City"

Cluppo is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're quite going to get. But they are all delicious. Yes, the dress was awesome - great colorful aesthetic. But I think the lush (as they say 'city pop') sound really suits her. Watched the lyrics second time round and they are impressive. Hope she keeps up with this side project..po!

Anyway, this isn't my least-favourite cluppo song (that's still "Flapping Wings") but I think it's, musically, the least interesting. In your "hatofull" album reaction there was someone in the comments saying that the songs on that album were average and you, rightly, defended it as "definitely not average". Well, musically, I think "With you" actually is pretty average, but that seems exactly what the anime creators wanted. In her Harajuku-Pop interview she says: '"From the time I first talked to (them), the staff on the anime side had a strong enthusiasm, and (they) told me specific requests such as "I like this kind of music." To put it in more detail, "Ideal for lyrics and tunes with a soft atmosphere," "I want an atmosphere that speaks to me," "I want a tune that betrays the impression of cluppo so far, but is that okay?". There seemed to be various orders."' The word "orders" is certainly too harsh in translation, but it seems clear they wanted a specific sound and cluppo delivered it. Luckily the song is elevated by Miku's hopeful, bittersweet lyrics, which she excels at.

Great to hear Miku's voice solo. BM's vocal sound is the opposites of Miku and Siki blending together and the great harmonies there. But Miku has a beautiful, almost angelic voice and it fits these songs perfectly. Give us more Miku.

Is it just me, or does Miku look like more of a mature, beautiful young woman in her Cluppo guise, as opposed to her much younger looking 'Girl' character in her BAND-MAID persona. And I mean that all in a good way.

I was hoping for something more torch-y using her lower register, but this is nice. Pretty much by-the-numbers city pop to me, but then the point here is really the lyrics, which just aren't going to have the same impact for me as they would for a Japanese-speaker. Probably my least favourite by Cluppo, but who knows it might grow on me. Cluppo's music style isn't really for me to begin with and I still enjoy listening to the EP every once in a while, so that might be the case for this one as well. I am sure it fits well with the anime and I hope it does well for her. I can't say I am also not a bit worried what might happen with Band-Maid if her Cluppo project really takes off even though I think she really deserves it to do well. There might some hard cuts to be made as far as her time goes trying to ballance out both projects if Cluppo really takes off though (especially since I have the feeling this was her dream all along).

Not my style but good on Kobato. I'm always trying to hear clues as to whether Kanami is ghost writing the Cluppo stuff, but this one didn't sound very Kanami-ish to my layman's ears.

Sorry, but "Now doesn't last forever" is not powerful. The NOW is the only thing that truly exists. Nice little song, though. But imho not Bandmaid worthy. More like 14 year old girl worthy.
