This entity is Ryomen Sukuna...he is the Sigma Male of Curses, but he is dead...and all left from him are his fingers which contains parts of his soul and power. The kid with pink hair ate one finger at the begining of anime and from that point he host Sukuna in his body, normally he can control him so Sukuna don't take control but every time he eat another finger the soul of Sukuna is getting stronger and right here we see he is eating it to make sure the kid won't tak over again (spoiler, he does later).

Goku didn't actually spare people like that. He spared Piccolo, and because that worked out so well, he spared Vegeta. The misconception that Goku just likes fighting started here, because that was one of the many excuses he gave to Krillin to not kill Vegeta. He was 100% on board with killing Frieza, Cell, and Buu. He totally was cool with Raditz being dead. But he was the one who yelled at Gohan to kill Cell. He DID kill Buu. And Frieza was only spared because Goku wanted him to live in shame and humiliation. He also only had HALF A BODY at this point. But you don't think his original aim was to kill Frieza? He threw a fucking Spirit Bomb at him. So no, he doesn't just spare people. The Ginyu Force was just sorry as hell by the time Goku rolled up, too.
