- I use a re-shade preset by @Harrie • The Sims 4: ReShade Mo...
( I have made few edits to this preset, I turned off both LiftGammaGain and Colourfulness and I turned on LumaSharpen )

I’m having a love/hate relationship with the reshade. I think it’s so pretty with the colors and like you said it makes the colors everything seem softer, although I wish the shadows would be toned down just a teeny bit more. I think it gives it much needed depth but on certain items it can be really pronounced and it’s all I notice. But overall I think I like it! Use whatever you want to use, as long as it’s inspiring you and keeping you creative that’s all that matters! 🥰🤍

The transparent thing is not a "part of the mesh that's been left out", it IS the mesh! That's part of the 3D model that is the item, the leaves in the plants for example are just a PNG that works as a texture on the model so I doubt it can be fixed because it would require to edit the model itself (make a more detailed one)

yes i was about to comment this, it's basically a way for the sims team to make some complicated looking shapes/meshes without making it graphically intensive

I just had an idea; could you try to make a house or apartment using ONLY one expansion pack, one game pack, and one stuff pack? And no base game (except walls lol)

I really like this reshade inside the apartment. I thought that the shadows were just a littttlleee bit too harsh in yesterday's video but today I didn't feel that way at all. Plus the extra part of the mesh that shows up bc of the shadows does't really bug me that much! If it inspires you to build and makes you feel refreshed then keep using it! My favorite part for some reason was the desk right in front of the windows, so cute!

Hi Dawn, I commented on your previous video about the re-shade but after seeing this one I realise that I really like the feel and tone that it gives interiors. This is a fantastic apartment (with or without the re-shade) and I definitely feel that you should use whatever inspires you as you are the creator. I love the dove re-shading, makes the whole apartment look softer and more realistic but not too life like. Kind of like disney-ish. I wish I could place clutter and other items freely like on pc 🥺 Love the entire build, you did amazing and very nice music at the end 💙

i absolutely love the reshade! i think it may clash with brighter builds but those aren't your main style so i think this one is perfect for most of the types of builds you do. it is just so cute and cozy. also, this apartment is stunning!

I LOVE this reshade!! I am definitely going to download it. I do agree the shadows are a bit harsher on the exterior of your last build, but not enough to really bother me. I think it’s great! I love this apartment!

I really like the reshade! Totally agree with your stance about adding depth and realism, but I like that it's a sort of cartoony realism. I really enjoy the Maxis style in TS4, so I like that the reshade highlights that :)

This is a gorgeous layout for this apartment! I love this apartment but the last few times I've tried to do floorplans I would get frustrated and keep falling back to the floorplan I always use so I'm always excited to see different ideas :) Also I personally don't mind the reshade, especially inside I think it looks really pretty and soft. The reason the plants look like that is because of how it’s modeled! Instead of having individually modeled out the whole stem with leaves and such, it plant itself is just a flat plane/rectangle with a plant texture on it. Then, every part that doesn’t have the green plant texture on it goes transparent! Reshade can’t put a shadow under just the leaves of the plant because there is no “properly” modeled edge! Its basically just a picture on on a see through piece of paper haha. I should also mention that this is intentional and it used to make plants much faster and with less geometry!

I like the reshape for interiors so much! Exteriors, it’s just a bit different than the normal so it seems drastic I think. But really, it is pretty just takes some getting used to!
