The Punjab government on Saturday announced Rs 1,500 per acre as subsidy for the farmers who go in for direct seeding of rice.
The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਠੀਕ ਕਿਹਾ, ਝੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਬੂਟਾ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਰਤਾ ਹੈ। ਝੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਬੂਟਾ ਵਿੱਚ 5-8 ਸੈਟੀਮੀਟਰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁਬਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਝੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਰਕਬਾ ਲੋੜ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਪਾਣੀ ਖਰਾਬ ਕਰਦਾਂ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਇਹੀ ਹਾਲ ਰਿਹਾ,ਇਸਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਬੜੀ ਮਹਿੰਗੀ ਚੁਕਾਉਣੀ ਪਵੇਗੀ।

Great incentive to save our precious ground water... best is to replace Rice with alternative crops that use less water and give incentives to sow those crops.

So what he said is,, the crop of Rice takes a lot of groundwater when farmers plant it because what they do is, grow little plants somewhere else, pluck them out and plant later when the field is filled up with the water. It uses so much ground water. He has asked to plant Rice directly into the field with this new technique.. this will save water. And he has announced 1500 Indian Rupees per acre whoever farmer plants rice this way. 😊

Great initiative...we should also promote horticulture by giving incentive and by setting a minimum limit for converting agricultural land to horticultural use e.g if any farmer who is having 10 acre can proceed for horticulture farming by using 1 acre i.e 10% of total land

Crop pattern is subject of study for all state government.based on national requirements and then exports to grow farmers ....this type of points should include in farm laws not only buisness point of view....if we include waterprice in rice production and then export then it's a loss....

Bhai Sahib ji, Planting more trees in the red zone areas of Punjab may help. Please encourage farmers to not grow rice in these areas. Use this money for research on what can be grown with less water. If the farmers grow what your government suggests then reward is good. In the red zone, solar power might be an option. These are only my thoughts. I have full confidence in Aap governance. Thank you ji 🙏

किसानों को पैसा देने की बजाय आप हर गांव में पानी को जमीन में भेजने का उपाय करो। जैसे south india के कई states कर रहे हैं। Soaking Pits बनावाओ हर गांव में ताकि waste पानी जमीन में जा सके। ऐसे पैसा देने का कोई मतलब नहीं है। आपको पानी ही बचाना है तो please इस पैसे को किसानों को मत दो।
