Cool, did not know that the CR2032 is standard on computers. Thought I was going to have to take the computer apart and wait until I find the right battery number. Now I can preorder the battery before getting started.

At my wit's end I've been working on this pc for 2 straight days. I cleaned it all up. Everything inside is clean. My pc has not booted up and and shown any video signal on any output. That is to say, every monitor has consistently shown "no input". And now. My Pc is flashing the amber alarm 5 times to indicate a bad cmos battery. I just bought 2 2032 batteries today. And I have gotten the same message every single time today.

Will a dead or near dead CMOS battery prevent a laptop from turning on? Is the CMOS battery a rechargeable battery recharged by the laptop?

My Pc keeps doing short repeated automatic restarts.

I would recommend trying to boot into the Recovery Environment then choosing Startup Settings, when you get the menu choose Safe Mode, if this allows you to boot your computer, then you might have a driver issue. However if you still cannot boot, try to boot to the command prompt and run SFC /scannow, this will run the System File checker. Then run chkdsk /r /f and if you still have the issue it will be one of two things a Windows OS issue which might require a reinstall and if it is still happening after that I would say it is most likely a piece of hardware failing.

@@ITProTv I also got a message that’s says something about PSU over-voltage . Shut down initiated to prevent damage.
