It was good. today is my first day of work I am going to start at 2. little beat nerves..

I saw your comment late, but I hope your first day was good. Don't beat yourself up over little mistakes or if you forget how to do certain stuff. Don't give up 💪🏽Keep showing up. It's a learning process.

Can we wear any kind of scrub to the orientation?

I would say it depends on the facility. My facility allowed me to wear any color. I actually called them to find out. Maybe you could call your facility as well 😊

Hey, this was a great video. What kind of facility are you working at? Is it a hospital since you have mentioned being put on different floors? Also, what are the kind of floors you've worked on so far?

Hey, I was working at a nursing home and rehab center at the time. Some floors had rehab residents who were able to walk around and do most things for themselves. Other floors had long-term residents, many of whom were total-care, so the acuity was higher.

Since I worked with an agency, they had me floating every shift 🥲 I didn't enjoy that, but it made me better at my job

I didn't prefer any since I was doing too much work with the long-term patients and didn't get to spend enough time with each person to ensure they get the care they deserved. The patient-to-CNA ratio didn't make sense ...while with the rehab patients, I was left with nothing to do for a good portion of the day. I would prefer a balance, tbh

@@getrealwithdee ouch. I understand. That's not ideal at all. One thing I hate the most is having to rush through patients/residents. It happened to me once during an internship 5 years ago and I'm still upset lol.

What should I wear to orientation?

For orientation, scrubs are the safest bet since it is very likely that you would be placed on the floor/unit you'll be working on. You can't go wrong with comfortable scrubs 😊
