Animation was cool for the first 30 seconds, then it just became plain annoying waiting for it to write up a paragraph that could be read in 5 seconds. Still, the text was clear and straightforward.

I liked the animation. The negative thing is you are animating almost 4 minutes something you could explain in 15 seconds.

and why do I sometimes encounter people putting mail.domain.tld on a record instead of cname record?

Unless I am reading this wrong, I would disagree with the statement of 2:50 of "CNAME records is used to identify multiple domain names that point to the same IP address." They don't have to be the same IP address. They can redirect to an external domain or even one that you do not own yourself.

but how does dns server computer look like? is it a linux box full of statements that glue domain name & ip address?

So a CName record is just another word for subdomain and A Record is just another name for domain? Or is a subdomain just the the first part of a C Name?

Great video! Very helpful teaching style as many web designers tend to be "visual" and deciphering technical jargon can be most uninspiring.

I think format might work better for short phrases, but for longer sentences it becomes tedious to wait for it to be written.

Very nice, and just what I needed this morning. HOWEVER, it's a little too fast at the very beginning, and I had to stop and rewind to see the first part. Other than that, it's awesome and is in my bookmarks folder now for helping others.

The animation was too annoying to see this tutorial through to the end. A couple of boring slides or just a verbal explanation would have been much quicker and easier to follow.
