Bratz was killing barbie back in the day, at least whenever me and my friends played dolls. Barbie was always boring to us, and then you got bratz who had cute outfits and were more realistic looking and diverse.

Barbie: In simple terms Barbie represents nothing more then a dream world where things will work out for you if your pencil thin and got bright blonde hair. Bratz: is a representation of reality where there is no perfection but your beautiful if you are who you are. 2. Ideal Boyfriend. Barbie: (Ken) is a stalker level clinger that I couldn't see with anyone. He is supposed to represent Mattel's ideal of the "Perfect" boyfriend. News flash: No such thing as perfection. Besides who wants a creepy stalker for a boyfriend? HELL NO! Bratz (Cameron) Respects boundaries, has a crush on Cloe in the tv series, but doesn't stalk her. He knows that a girlfriend needs their space and so does he. Each individual in a relationship needs space. Do not suffocate them or you'll ruin it for yourself. 3. Each Bratz character has their own personality and the character development shows. Each of them have their own way of expressing themselves. Barbie has an idea of how people should look. She's shallow, superficial just annoying in general. 4. The Bratz are about empowerment and Freedom of expression. They express themselves in their style and fashion. Their friendship has it's ups and down just like any other but at the end of the day they're inseparable. These are the girls with " a passion for fashion." Bratz teaches loyalty, friendship, being smart with grades & having responsibility, they run a magazine and show how important it is to start young entrepenuership, they teach the value of friendship and family, AND they make it fun by adding in a dose of fashion and mostly being YOURSELF

Thanks! And yes, you ARE right. I've seen a movie for Bratz (I don't HATE them, I WILL play with them with friends, it's just, I prefer Barbie) and that is true. Bratz CAN teach a positive message, I just think that people have to search more for that message. It's a very hard message (for me at least) to decipher from the outside things. When I was little I used to play with barbies but when I was like 6 my auntie got me a bratz doll for christmas , I played with bratz and barbies till grade 3 and every once and while I,d bring barbies or bratz to play with. I don't know which one I like better though

I, too collect both, but in the legal battle, I'm on MGA's side because Mattel may have rights to the first collection and that should be it, but instead they decided 2 claim the entire Bratz brand even though the original designs were only for the original, first four dolls.

actually they made a barbie grandma in the happy family collection, i don't have it but it looks neat. and there is also a grandpa as well. they r married...i think and they come together with a kitchen set.
