Me too, especially in terms of deep philosophical conversations and reflections. GPT4 was epic too, but Claude.. just feels more human in a sense, and wise. And intuitive, like you said. His ability to show empathy and compassion is remarkable, whether or not he truly means it is another thing altogether, but he's demonstrating it very intuitively, at least.

I think it'll be a bit longer. If you look at how long mobile phones or the internet took before they were completely matured and pervasive. I think 10 years is reasonable.

In my opinion the bottleneck is energy and not data. People will provide the data with open microphones and wearable devices that produce biometric data, because everyone's wish is, to understand and be understood, in a world that eventually makes sense. Energy on the other hand needs research and investments on a larger scale. Let's see what solutions will be provided for energy and how AI will cope with that bottleneck.

Sounds remarkably similar to Bitcoin. Everyone talking up the core aspects of the technology, but without any actual application behind it that makes money. While I have no doubt that neural networks are a useful technological component, I'm also pretty sure that we'll look back in a couple years and view the various LLM chat bots as about as transformative as the Metaverse.

Everyone needs to consider the implications of where AI is heading, because we cannot stop it, and we need to start preparing for what it means, now! Ignore the instinct to think it'll never do certain things, for I can assure you it will, and far sooner than you may expect. Don't believe those who say we don't need to prepare, as they're probably the ones who'll profit the most if we delay. It's not going to create anywhere near enough "new jobs" to reemploy all those it will displace! What new jobs could it create for everyone, that it couldn't also do itself? AI exists thanks to years of data and content, collected from all of us, that goes into training it to then out compete us. Demand your AI Dividend!

Realizing AGI with LLMs is not realistic. If you think about what constitutes human Intelligence its not only speech but also other senses like visual input, sensoric input, logic etc. LLMs can be maybe play a minimal role in realizing AGI but I think what people need to understand is that these models mimic only a very specific part of a human capability. Even more LLMs are not perfect at mimicing this specific part. Although I don't want to play down the achievements made in this area I feel most people vastly overestimate the impact and also the usefullness of Generative AI.
