I still think this is one of the best DIY CNCs I have seen on KZfaq. Makes mine look like a toy. Although to be fair they are different CNCs for completely different purposes. You can't argue with the results they are as good as any store bought CNC.

That is the most capable home cnc I have seen so far. The cutting sounds solid - especially for the length of cutter used.... The epoxy granite base is doing its job. The spindle has ample power. Nicely done Sir.

Thank you for not wanting to post all the painful details of every milling. There are a lot of channels that post dozens of videos showing every cut that was made. Some people like that I guess. I don't have enough time for that. What I appreciate in a build video is learnable information. What you are planning to do. Why. What approaches will you be taking. What challenges do you see. What unexpected happened? (if anything) How did you solve expected challenges, and the unexpected problems. Because you built your machine, how it is performing. Any limitations that you need to take into account to perform the project you are working on. (I guess this could be a part of the above questions) I am also interested in the part you are making. You are not machining a block of metal just for the fun of it. All of the above questions but in relation to the project as a whole. These are things that I value over just watching chips fly. Of course it is easier to just post video of chips flying.

Wat een enorme materiaalverspilling. Eerst in de fabriek veel energie verbruikt om een blok aluminium te maken, en dan weer een hoop energie verbruiken om alles er weer uit te frezen.

What about stress relieving ? What we do is we put parts in the oven for 4-6h 160deg then we do finish operations.

Could I make one small suggestion. When you make a fixture like the Op-2 plate. If you make a set of master jaws for your vise with a dovetail at the top. Then machine the mating dovetail in you fixture plate. That way when you clamp it in the vise it will be very securely held from moving due to any mishap or cutting force/vibration. Also you don't have to tighten the vise so much risking bowing the plate upward. Just a thought. Otherwise your machine does a impressive job. Great video.

this looks great, can you tell me something about the precision of your machine? How is the accuracy of it? As an example, if you mill a rectangle witch is 100x100mm how precise would it be at first try without tuning? I love your channel and machine, you realy have my respect.
