Starting with the basic building blocks of an Arduino Sketch (program), I have put together this video to show how the program works with various functions required for CNC. Some of these are: -
Arduino ODrive controller
Arduino Keypad Control
Some aspects of Arduino CNC
What is Backlash?
How backlash is taken out in the program?
A little on the ISR (Interrupt Sub-Routine) for the Emergency Stop to work.
Hopefully this will give a good introduction into the Arduino Program and its functions.

I find the ODrive has a dead zone to stop it from jittering when you give it an encoder position to go to. Did you find a way to modify the dead zone?

Hi Eric, I found that re-tuning the ODrive (according to their online gide) under different load situations (i.e. free running, under belt tension, etc) that there were no dead zones or jitter. I think most of the jitter experienced is with the stability of the encoder, where mine is very securely attached, I know this is hard to achieve with an out-runner on the rear axle, especially if you need to save weight. I don't have any issues with demanded positions, where it sits in any position with a very strong hold. You may find an answer in Part 4, where I ran through the calibration. Hope that helps.
