Hi everybody! This is just an aluminum cutting test on the bed that has improved my surface. And I'm glad the result was not a mistake. Surely this is not a good solution because the scope of safety is very small, and not for the faint of heart. 😃 Thank you for watching and commenting!!!

So many people that downright know everything. These days college is useless when you can just watch KZfaq comments, and learn all the secrets of life. Please, more comments on what he should be doing that he's not. I'm sure he takes all this wonderful information to heart, and completely throws out his setup/tooling/routine/ect, in exchange for something a 40yr old unemployed man living in his mommas basement has told him. Always a load more gems and priceless information flowing from the guys watching videos vs guys actually being productive.

You should try interpolation to full depth and get some troichoidal movement happening. You'd be able to run feed twice as fast and your chips won't be so tiny :-)

Hmm, I think that depends on how stiff his machine is - I've found that even with troichoidal roughing, full depth on my diy router can cause lots of chatter.
@diditwork3702 жыл бұрын
@@robbiejames1540 Yeah depending on your rigidity you will have to experiment with DOC and WOC. On larger and repeat jobs I'll try multiple strategies to find the highest MRR.

Have you experimented with changing from climb cut for a final pass? I've found improved finish with non-ferrous but that was all I tested before handing the keys to my customer. I recorded shaft vibrations induced by cutting and greatly decreased as the finish improved. Reducing feed speed while climb cutting didn't show similar benefit. Nice toy you have. Good day.

I know the speeds and feeds were talked about 4 month ago. I am a life long machinist I know my speeds and feeds. The book of speeds and feeds are a guide line but the rigidity of your machine is what counts. This is how to get the best result on your cuts. Shorter end mill (they are called stubbies) when it squeals like that your rpm is to high. Try about 6000 to 7000 rpm. You will need to slow the feed to control chip load. you can go 100 in min. and COOLANT!!!!!!always use coolant to avoid gauling up on the end mill! PS great looking part!
@TheMsjayhawk6 жыл бұрын
What about just ripping the hell out of it to start with, using a stubby hogging mill, and then tool change over to a finishing mill to go for the final dims with a clean finish?

Well Andrew, I would love to see this Magic Speeds and Feeds hand Book you refer to ..... Its Not going to work the same on my equipment and it would be different for Phucnguyen - We in the Cnc industry use simple formulas to find out What speeds and feeds to use (Engineers Not Required) Just Some info from manufacturer is needed. Every Bit manufacturer is different and every machine is different - The Link Below will give you a better edge finish (Just one Option Out of 100s) www.toolstoday.com/p-6447-hss-spiral-aluminum-cutting-single-double-flute-up-down-cut-router-bits.aspx

А нельзя было внутренние детали сразу по внешнему кругу вырезать? Зачем изнутри резать?
@user-by8gz2jk9o5 жыл бұрын
металл будет нагреваться и коробится, точность детали ухудшиться.
@user-ll6pd1hr7i5 жыл бұрын
мне кажется не из-за этого, при последнем проходе внутренняя деталь может выскочить и повредить основную деталь или запороть фрезу.

WD40 is the best spray you can use on Aluminum to lubricate it.
@jeeprenegade19854 жыл бұрын
I have used WD40 and kerosene before. I like both but did get a built up edge on the tool with kerosene, after awhile. I think the one place bought kerosene because it was cheaper. It was the kerosene with the red dye in it. I think it was kerosene and not diesel anyway lol.

@Bitfrogess7 жыл бұрын
In the CNC world a few thou is a mile of room. At work we often get within .010" of our workholding. Very little risk of hitting anything if you're smart about proofing the code/setup.
@gusbisbal98037 жыл бұрын
The G-Code is not the issue. Its the setting of the collet. The end mill can get pulled out that far with aggressive cuts when the material has hard spots that are unknown to operator ie just harder areas that didn't get solutionised as well. It has nothing to do with getting the G-code wrong. It has more to do with things going wrong that you can't completely check
@shawncrocker70377 жыл бұрын
gus bisbal exactly. Inevitable. And once those cuts are in the work table there scares for life. Seems just as easy to put a 500 thou spacer as a 40 thou.
@godfreypoon51487 жыл бұрын
That was 0.4mm, not 40 thou... 0.4mm is 16 thou! (I'm sure he cranked down on that collet good and tight anyway.)
