Dear St. Helena please pray for us for that strength to lead a penitential life and not to have the weakness which makes us run after the things that God has made instead of seeking Him in the greatest adventure

Saint Helena found and the three crosses together Jesus and the other 2 criminals. To understand which of them was the real one (Jesus cross) she placed all of the three to e dead body tha was pashing close the area for burial rites. When she places the last cross of the three the body was resurrected, that was the way tha saint Helena recognized the true Jesus Christ cross. That os from biography of saint Helena from the Orthodox Christian books.

Even in 300 AD, the Christian tourism in Israel must have been sizable. I would have loved a piece of the true cross industry then.

Well, I am sure that whoever accompanied St. Helena in her voyage had been properly instructed that whatever emperor's mum asked for she should remain satisfied. So even if the dotard had been looking for a buried philharmonic orchestra, they would have made sure that everything was duly arranged. 😆

Also thinking the same thing. And it has been 300+ years since the death of Jesus, and I just don't think the romans just buried the cross over there, or is it a common practice after crucifixion? I don't know, I just find it hard to believe in all honesty.

How? homepages.rpi.edu/~holmes/Hobbies/Genealogy2/ps18/ps18_323.htm It seems likely she was born in then Drepanum in Bithynia. Which today would be Hersek Caddesi, Yalova, Turkey. Ethnicity its likely she was of macedonian/greek origins.
