I am having thinning on my edges and have loss two locs in past 6 months. I discussed combining my locs with my consultant and have an appointment April 14. As of today, I am 6 weeks without retie and will be 8 weeks by my April appointment. My hair looks so good without a retie. My last retie was so painful that I had my consult with Melissa last Thursday. Gonna make decision on Knotting in next two weeks.

My crown is thin too, but I have not lost any locs either.

I had sisterlocks in the past but decided to go back to loose hair. I think what would be helpful is to stop getting reties so tight. The reason you're not seeing whole locs fall is because the hair is thinning strands at a time. The strands that have come from the scalp end up being retained within the loc but have been detached from the scalp. It's kind of like a traction situation. I hope this makes sense.

When your hair is starting to thin, they're putting those falling locs in their pockets, not even telling you. I have seen them do it. It's all about the Benjamin's, sad but true....

Tunisia, I love your videos! I got locd 2 years ago and am now confronted with lice for the first time (kid brought them home) Can you do a video on how to treat lice with sisterlocs?

Do any of you ladies recommend a loctician in San Diego area 23:53 ok with not sticking to the 6 week retie. I am newly locked (8 months)? I am going to switch to knotted locs but need to wait a year or so more til my hair gets a comfortable length that I can knot it
