But even as track and field athletes across the world make their final preps for the Olympic Games in Paris, one significant name is going to be missing in the women’s sprint events. And that name guys is Jamaica’s sprint sensation Elaine Thompson-Herah. A woman who has gradually established herself to become the fastest female athlete alive in the world, thanks to her phenomenal personal best of 10.54 seconds in the women’s 100 meters clocked at the 2021 Prefontaine Classic.
After sustaining an injury at the 2024 USATF NYC Grand Prix on June 19th, Elaine Thompson who prides herself as the two-time Olympic sprint double champion has not recovered. The injury forced Thompson-Herah to withdraw from the Jamaican Olympic Trials which automatically means she will miss this year’s Olympic Games.
