Thank you coach for everything. As a kid my mom worked at Duke and you allowed to me run around and shoot in the gym while she was working. Thank you for the inspiration for things far more than basketball.

As a Duke fan who was stationed at Fort Knox for a spell we appreciate the love for the Coach. Don't judge me too harshly but, I used to love wearing my Duke gear in the Blue Grass state. I had no choice but to represent. Lots of eyes though 👀

Good news about Jesus Christ! When you first come to him, He completely erases/ forgives your past! You will not be punished for anything bad that you’ve done! Here’s how! (2 Corinthians 5:17)- “If anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation: The old has gone, and the new has come! (Explanation of the Bible verse above): Whenever a person decides to give their life to God, their past no longer counts against them! He erases it completely! I had the privilege of meeting this man my junior year in high school(92’) at the racquetball court on the west side of the campus. Me and some friends were playing some pickup basketball in that gym. He comes out all sweaty,racquetball racquet in his hand, I shouted out to him “GO DUKE”,he stopped,looked right at me and walked towards me. He shook my hand as I introduced myself. He actually asked me how things were going in school,how my grades were etc. I asked him if I could get his autograph,and he said “sure but I’m nobody special” LOL I got him to sign the duke shirt I was wearing at the time,and it’s in a case in my house. One of my most prized possessions. Thank you coach k for what you’ve done for the sport and for the record,to ME…you ARE someone special!!

Coach K is an inspiration too so many,his heart and passion for the players and game will truly be missed,yet I truly believe for decades to come he will shine through so many his mentored! I’ve met coach k I’ve been a fan for all 29 years of my life this is so heartbreaking and idk if I will watch as much any more because the game has changed one and done is not what true college basketball fans want to watch but I am happy that he will have more time for his family this man has given so much to the game

UNC fan mixed feelings he is a rival and probably made for the best villain you can imagine....but he has meant alot to college basketball and especially the triangle/NC area he forced UNC, NC State, Wake and the rest of the area and ACC to really step it up...Duke will never be the same again might still be good but it will definitely be different...K is an institution.

I know how you must feel. As a rival coach, he always made sure to greet and acknowledge the players of every team he faced, win or lose. That always impressed me. The man is the embodiment of respect and class.

My favorite Coach K memory has to be when he quit on his 94/95 team due to "back issues", then petitioned the NCAA to have the 4-15 record the team accumulated in his absence taken off his record.

I hope he can recruit because some 4 and 5 stars might feel some kind of way that TA didn't get the job or JD maybe because they left the nest and started their coaching careers at other schools instead of sitting underneath him on the bench for years waiting for a chance a lot of us who knows the history especially the ACC understand what it is all about

Coach K, I want to wish your retirement from Duke all these years. You have been a great coach there all these years. Your Duke teams all those years you have trained theirs son to players and made a great teams. They will miss you very much and we thank you . I met you several ago when you were helping Children Miracle Network. You have done a lot for Duke and other things. Enjoy your retirement.

I’m a Celtics Fan…and I love Coach K… but that’s not happening….and definitely not to a team that is not ready to win like This current group…if he was ever gonna leave Duke for another job,it would have been in 2004 for 5 years $40 million with the lakers…he’s now 74…let the man enjoy his final season…college basketball has been lucky to have him around this long…he’s got nothing to prove,let him go be with his family and enjoy his retirement,cause he’s earned it!
