I think it’s a big result of how he treats his players. He seems down to earth, smart, and funny, and he interacts with them like friends. It seems he has their respect and vice versa

I watched a documentary on this guy and mind you, im not too dumb or oblivious of a person and have some decent common sense, but I literally thought it was a joke documentary until about halfway through it. His story is wild, his interviews look like skits and this dude is hilarious as a coach! We need more of him around. I guess since my Lions are doing good I haven’t had time to pay attention to most other teams and big stories the last couple years.

I really believe that this is a brilliant character he has crafted to deal with everything that is outside what he wants to do. It’s gently sarcastic, perfect for media in todays game. It’s as if the “nerd” was popular in his school so charisma and confidence came with it. It’s kinda like when Jim Carrey talks about himself during his film career as though that was a character. I think the same thing applies here
