2 things one, she's got plenty of power with her shots, power doesn't come from winding up a shot, in fact in my 30+ yrs in boxing both as a former amateur GG champ and trainer, I understand the fact that a fighter is born with either Power or Speed, rarely both. So with that said you can't make a fighter who isn't a natural puncher become one just by having him /her trying to load up on every shot especially on the mitts. I teach technique on the mitts to develop the fighters ability to throw a hard shot by applying technical precision, which includes turning over every shot, turning your core and shoulders with every shot, so to a novice it may appear that she is not punching hard, but to her opponent its a completely different story. And by the way she happens to be a 2X (Open Class) City, State and Regional Golden Gloves Champ at 119lbs, so I know for a fact just using her as an example that what I teach, works... Ive trained and worked with countless other professional world champs and elite level amateurs including several Olympians so I stand by what I teach because I know it works..
