Yep, his record at Alabama, in the SEC Championship Game, was 9-1. He lost the first one, in just his second season, and then won 9 straight. He made it to the National Championship Game 9 times, also, the same amount of times as he won the SEC. 2 different times, he won the SEC, and failed to make it to the National Championship Game, the first and last years of the 4-team playoff (2014 & 2023). Also twice, he failed to win the SEC, and made it to the National Championship Game, winning it both times (2011 & 2017). He made it to the playoffs 8 times in 10 years, made it to the Finals in 6 of those 8 playoffs, and won 3 of those 6 National Championship Games. He made it to 3 other National Championship Games, before the playoffs existed, of course, winning each of those times. His record in National Championship Games, as the head coach at Alabama (6-3), was the same as Bill Belichick’s record, as a head coach, in the Super Bowl. His record in National Championship Games, as a head coach, overall (7-3), was the same as Tom Brady’s record, as a player, in the Super Bowl. This doesn’t mean anything, but it was just something I realized a while back, and I thought it was neat. To make a long story short, anyway,, Coach Nick Saban is the GOAT 🐐 Roll Tide! 🐘 🏈

But what is more telling. Saban's 10 NCs Whitie QB: 6-0 Blackie QB: 1-3 And what is the most unbelievable stat ever. The black QB was Hurts. He scored 0 points in the game he got credit for. The starting QB gets the win or loss on his resume. Tua got an assist in the books. Look it up.

I think the title is a bit misleading since Alabama wasn’t undefeated when they won the sec in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2021. But they did win 9 straight sec champ appearances. That’s unprecedented for sure!!

The very first major win in the Nick Saban era was to overcome the Gators. Saban and the Tide did that in a hurry, year 3. That was truly the turning of the Tide. Them Gators were loaded.
