Will anyone tell the reason for this channel being underrated. Cuz this channel is one of the best badminton channels that improved my game at such a level that i can defeat the player who used to defeat me at score of 4-11 or 7-11. Now the scores vice versa all due to you.

I dont get how in "slow practice movements" the elbow is always high and AT AN ANGLE with the shoulder line. When you look at pro level players the elbow is always IN LINE with the shoulders (otherwise it would blow your shoulder when smashing 400kmh+). Another thing is bending/ snaping of the wrist. You also dont see that in a full stroke. Could you comment on this? In addition: If you go to 5:57 and you observe your shot frame by frame (use "," and "." keys), you yourself have your elbow in shoulder line. Your elbow is not "next to the ear" like shown in the drills from the beginning.
@CoachKennieAsuncion4 жыл бұрын
Hi Han Hannes! This basic way of hitting the shuttle or what I call 1-2-3 is a very basic way to explain to beginners how you should be hitting the shuttle. 1- both arms up, elbow is as high as the shoulder (you are right about that, i never stressed otherwise at any time in the video) 2- bend the elbow facing up in preparation to hit the shuttle (the reason why i kept stressing this is bec i don’t want the player to hit the shuttle low, the higher u get them you have more options to return your shots and can make the angle of your shot steeper but a pro is a pro for a reason so even if they get their shots lower they still have variety & control). 3- is the actual hitting of the shuttle Yes you are right pro players start with elbow as high as the shoulder which is what i point out in my first step, naturally you have to bend your elbow at 2 but for the pro it’s no longer needed to be emphasized bec the speed of their game is diff from that of a beginner. I hit my shots in 1-2-3 form even at 5:57, it’s just that when it’s faster you no longer see the emphasis on the elbow (no need to exaggerate any movements when running around but the basic form is still seen). I encourage players to hit it as high as possible bec thats the best spot at 11 o clock & for a beginner i would recommend it that way. For an advanced level & the competitive ones they need not do this in a step by step form/emphasis, they can even reach their arm out and not have the perfect form and hit it back with power bec. “They are in a different level” I teach in my video how i was taught and how i do it but i also acknowledge the fact that what works for me doesn’t necessarily work for everyone. With regard to snapping of the wrist, it is a misconception to think you always use your wrist and snap for badminton, in certain occasions you actually steady your wrist & not go for the snap for a more controlled calculated shot. As a former competitive athlete, I like seeing and learning different styles, that way I try which one works best for me, as well as for my students. We have different body height & body structure, the way we hit might differ a bit in as simple as how much we bend our elbows or move our legs. Thank you for your question, it gives me a chance to explain further & give more details. I hope I was able to address your question. Thanks! 😁🏸
