Not NFL Offense, But brett kollmann breaks down NFL game film and offensives. This QB School like offensive breakdown goes deep into the NFL spread concepts and how high school football can use NFL style plays covered by brett kollmann and QB School

Jim uses a specific formula that succeeds at every level. You look at San Diego he had three TEs, physical on offense, shortens the game for the defense so they are fresh at the end of the game to be aggressive. The defense has to practice against that, which makes them mentally and physically tough. At Stanford and at the 49ers, that same philosophy two or three TEs, physical, shorten the game, and a great defense. Goes to the Super Bowl. Jim knows that championships are built from aggressive, attacking defenses and great special teams. He’s not out there trying to score a bunch of points, playing with tempo, that stuff. Utilize two or three TEs, play physical, grind you down, shorten the game. The defense is fresh at the end, those guys are flying around being aggressive. That’s how you win championships.

Excellent read on things 💯. That's why I knew they'd run the table. Most teams can't deal with the physical run game AND THE TIGHT ENDS!!! If you have good Tight ends and know how to use them, they're unstoppable. Ask New England and the Chiefs 🏆😂

Played receiver for Michigans OC Kirk Campbell at his last school, Kirk loved throwing the ball then. We probably threw 70% of the time. I’m wondering if he’s going to go with the air raid at Michigan. I must’ve ran 92 mesh and 92 mesh switch 2000 times

McCarthy is a dual threat (running) QB. They didn’t run him as much as they did in 2021-22 because they didn’t have a solid (passing) backup option, and they needed that dual threat for the playoffs and Ohio State. Kaep had a strong arm but wasn’t a good NFL passer. However, the read option was new in the NFL and Kaep was a very effective runner until NFL defenses figured it out two years later. There in lies the scheme choice.

Your whole premise is flawed. Lamar basically ran the same concepts for 5 yrs with the same OC before dude got fired. The NFL didnt figure out a damn thing with the running concepts the ravens was the number 1 rush team for half a decade clearly conceptionally it works. What they figured out is Roman's pass concepts were God awful so they could exploit Roman's offense that way bcuz u do have to throw the ball in the NFL....

@@CedtheActor yes, and using the anomaly, one of one, exception of a quarterback that runs better than most running backs doesn't address the scheme. Kaeperknick had exceptional straight line speed, but no one is Lamar. There's also an argument against the scheme when Lamar was the only other productive example, and he has no rings and just now got to the conference championship with a new scheme that also failed the Ravens when it mattered.

He will run the offense that suits his personnel. Michigans offense this year was very much an NFL style scheme, just like their defense. By the way, Mccarthy is a duel threat QB w/4.5 speed. They chose not to run him much. Go back and look at 2022 season, had many designed runs for him.

What makes you think he is going to run the offense he ran at Michigan? Why would he plan on doing that, then hire the offensive coordinator he had during his time with the 49ers? Also, they ran pistol heavy for the first season Kaepernick was playing after Alex Smith got hurt. There was a full three and a half years of more traditional style offense in the Harbaugh/Roman offense. Will he bring some of what he did at Michigan? Probably. Will they run some of what Roman ran at Baltimore, Buffalo, and what they were doing before in San Francisco? Almost certainly.

Hey coach McKie. Love your channel. I watched your video, "Which Offense is Better?" - The Air Raid vs the Run and Shoot, multiple times. It was great to hear about John Jenkins again. I used to watch his Houston Gamblers and Houston Cougar teams. If I ever had the chance, I'd like to ask you how U of H could beat SMU 95-21, (and do that to other teams too), but lose to University of Miami 41 - 10. SMU was coming off the death penalty, so that makes sense. But the loss to Miami? My belief has always been that Miami had four physical and fast defensive tackles and ends, and had fast CBs that could play man. That seems like a run and shoot beater to me. But, I'm more curious about Kingsbury and the Las Vegas Raiders. If you make a video regarding Kingsbury and the Las Vegas Raiders, I would be curious to know what you think of their current skill players, and which QB in the draft would best fit their needs. Caleb Willams? Bo Nix? The Raiders have four WRs that are, IMO, near perfect for the Air Raid. Tre Tucker snd Jakobi Meyers would play Z and X, and Hunter Renfrow and Devante Adams would play Y and flanker. Renfrow probably at the Y? Josh Jacobs seems like the perfect Superback, (or whatever the Air Raid system calls their HB). And the Raiders tight end Michael Mayer, is quite a versatile TE. So if you do make a video, what are your thoughts on their current skill players for Kingsbury's Air Raid system? Thank you!!!

I don't mean to be rude but I think the idea of this video is flawed and it has errors. First Im not a fan of Harbaugh personally even tho I don't have issue with his coaching other than the cheating thing if that is proven. Second, Harbaugh's offenses have always been what his OC ran, not anything specific to Jim and tbh even tho all Head Coaches prolly have input into the game plan but its easy to tell who offense was being run; from David Shaw's offense with Stanford and Greg Roman's offense with the niners and Michigan's offense was Sherron Moore. The reason a lot of college offense's don't work in the NFL is cuz they don't have enough depth, Spurriur had like 20 plays in his playbook and Chip Kelly's offense had inspiring ideas but they were running the same things over and over again. Urban Meyer is a moron and his offense was coordinators also and like Spurriur, Kingsbury just didnt understand what it took to create an NFL offense. Do I think that Sherron Moore's offense wud work in the NFL: yes it prolly wud cuz its a pro style offense and they know how to coach it that way but I don't think that has anything to do with Harbaugh specifically and he shud be fine as long as he hires a good OC since Moore isnt going to the Chargers. Also: Todd Monken was the OC at Georgia, not Michigan. Jesse Minter the DC was from Michigan. So if Jim has good coordinators he should be fine coaching the Chargers but I feel like the concept of this video is wrong because the offense's on Jim's teams have never been his offense and as a "CEO" type coach he is going to depend on the coaches under him to create the offense and defense. Of course they are going to be a running team cuz that's what Jim likes but he has never been the OC of any teams he has coached. (PS I don't like how they changed the rules in college where a tackle can be the end guy on the line of scrimmage. I was so irritated watching that in college this year)

You are right; at San Fran they ran a much different offense (still liked to run, but uptempo and making use of Kaeperniks unique skillset), and besides liking to run and throwing in some trick plays, he doesn’t seem to have a particular offensive style. Even at Michigan, for a few years (years they weren’t as good) the offense looked way different based on the coordinator and quarterback. Shea Patterson, I think? That offense had a lot of option plays.
