Looks like some beautiful country out there. I would love to move out in the country some day, nice and calm and enjoy the trains moving by through the day. You sure have some great shots.

Thank you, learned something new. Where these lands included in the treaties that were given to the tribes? It seems that treaties are kept until valuable ore or oil is found then all bets are off.

The U.S. has 415 Gw of installed gas-fired generating capacity and 318 Gw of installed coal-fired generating capacity. Gas is king now.

Those colors in the background are NARM. One of the coal mines here in Wyoming. Once the train passes nacco junction, which is that mine, they start into Logan hill. Which is a 1.5 percent grade over I believe four or so miles

To be more precise, the ruling grade is closer to 1.0 percent, and the distance from Nacco to the top of Logan is just over 6 miles

Off topic here but the Metis of Western Canada just won a Supreme Court decision that gives them the land that was promised to them in the 1880's. It includes the land that the city of Winnipeg Manitoba sits on. They will not go after the land but I imagine a whole lot of money will be the issue. What is the BLM? Sorry I'm Canadian but am interested in this part of history.
