Maverick's heartline roll isn't in just a random field. Its in the backyard of the business that built it, Adena Corp in Mansfield

They didn't manufacture it, Intamin did. Adena is the construction company that installed it. They also installed Gatekeeper, a B&M, and probably some other rides at CP.

@T C it was removed before the ride was open to the public due to being "too intense" and causing excessive stress to the ride in general.

Merry Christmas, Sarah and Taylor! You've gotten to do lots of amazing things this year! Here are some of my honorable mentions: 1. ArieForce One did not open this year. 2. Apocalypse at Drayton Manor closed. 3. The kids area at Universal Studios is closing at the beginning of next year. 4. Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom is being transformed into Tiana's Bayou Adventure. 5. Cedar Point is getting a Wild Mouse coaster.

I think the weirdest thing is Efteling announcing a simulator without screens but with real scenery and animatronics... (Dance Macabre) and a Intamin Prototype as well. After the park said they never wanted to open a prototype again after the debacle with De Vliegende Hollander/The Flying Dutchmen prototype.

YES. That's what I said in reaction to that part of the video. That heartline role absolutely deserves to be in the roller coaster museum. (Right next to the track pieces from Montezooma's Revenge. RIP :-( )

El Toro one hit the hardest for me :( When I first went to SFGA in 2018 I skipped it cause I thought it was just a crappy old wooden coaster, this year though my friend who is so much more into coasters showed me how wrong I was. We were planning a second trip and then it shut down

The ICON Park accident is probably the craziest thing to happen this year, although it doesn't fit the vibe of this video. I think it is the reason Busch Garden's Falcon's Fury is still closed. Granted different manufacturers and ICON made errors, but the tilt makes the ride much more dangerous. The seat under your seat is the primary restraint. When you tilt forward you can slide off your seat putting much more responsibility on the OTSR.

I don't think Fun Times had any fault. The ride was safe had it been operated as designed but Icon Park messed with the censors without approval from Fun Times and made it accessible to larger riders.

@@RayDLX legally yeah but still there is the issue of the tilt. A big dude has his center of gravity too far forward and you cannot staple with OTSR because you need to breathe. I think the parks realized the margin for error was less than they thought.

Also love the ridiculous quirkiness of B&M building shuttle AND family wing coasters in the same year. Their lack of a budget/family model after their family invert model flopped is their biggest weakness, and I hope smaller wing coasters are as surprisingly intense as smaller inverts. Also, as stunning a gamble as a Surf Coaster is, at least nobody else is crazy enough to try another stand-up (let alone a launched one.) And if it fails? B&M's been there before, they can pivot to launched/family *floorless* coasters with new trains, and I am 100% here for it.

About Californias Great America the city made some remarks about the deal saying that they had no idea that the land was sold. The mayor herself said that they were going to try their hardest to save the park so I dont know.

I started my love for riding roller coasters in about July 2021. I have gone to Great Adventure twice. El Toro has been closed both times for different incidents lmao

One side note that California Great America is located in a zoning area by the city of Santa Clara to be an "amusement park". So there can be no housing developments (,currently) on that plot of land, unless the city decides to re-zone this area. Which at this time seems pretty unlikely, because even the city was overwhelmed by Cedar Fair's announcement, without any communication between the 2 parties. So we'll see how this develops in the future.

The heart line roll from Maverick has been at that facility in Mansfield, OH since 2007. I didn’t know that was a surprise to anyone.

In august in a Legoland resort in Bavaria two trains collided when one came to a stop and the follwing train did not. That shocked me the most, since i always thought this was impossible. Luckily reports claim that about 30 people suffered only minor injuries. 2022 in general has seen a lot of reports on accidents

Another crazy thing that happened is that Zamperla purchased an Intamin coaster, refurbished it and is calling it their own. Also Predator at SFDL finally Got Titan Track in a bad section and is getting more next season.

The craziest news for 2023 is Maverick closes to install modern heartland roll. If velocicoaster can be that smooth I don't see how maverick would be "too instense" . Rather see Maverick with this roll than any new coaster announced. Fight me hahahaha

As a parent to Disney castmembers, yes I am glad Paycheck is gone, but the issue remains - to my children's concern - the pay disparity between CEO and everyone else. One should, with a manager's position in the parks, be able to afford something greater than a one bedroom apartment in Anaheim. Not every position in the parks can or should be filled with high school and college aged adults. Sorry I went down the "worried parent" route. Anyway, great list and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you both.

I went to the Adena Corporation which is the company that has the Heartline Roll after emailing back and fourth to try and get some pictures of it. They told me I could come in and take some. When I got there they told me I wasn’t allowed because of a “Liability Concern”. Of course I am not going to trespass like some people so I left but the owner told me that he has declined every offer and has no interest in selling it. It was disappointing that they told me I could see it and then backed out after I drove there.
