Not only is it smooth, but the rotation of the cars is PERFECTLY centered on the riders themselves, so zero additional lateral forces are added from the rotation itself.

10:33 For those of you that are unfamiliar, a block zone is a section of a roller coaster that only one train may occupy. At the end of a block zone is a method to stop a train in case the zone is still occupied. This is the safety system that keeps roller oaster trains from colliding with each other.

As someone who just went to Disney World and pretty much did all the major rides, this one definitely stuck out as my favorite. It may be the most fun I’ve ever had on a roller coaster. I was giggling like a little kid the entire time (I’m 21 years old). Just riding a launched spinning coaster in the dark while the Guardians of the Galaxy are quipping and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” is playing in the background is just one of the most fun experiences a person can go through. It was an absolute blast. And yes, that song works perfectly with the ride. Especially the launch

I got to ride for the first time yesterday spoiler-free, and I’m not even going to lie. I think this was the best first ride experience I have had on any coaster, period. That said, I’m not a big MCU nerd, so I didn’t understand how it didn’t really fit in the Marvel universe. This thing was just probably the best all around experience I have had on a coaster. The pre-show effect really shocked me, and then, the coaster had me giggling like a little kid the entire time. I loved every second of it!! I would even go to say that I would have a hard time choosing whether to ride this or VelociCoaster, just based on how much fun I had on Guardians.

According to Disney, the Marvel attractions don’t take place in the main MCU but a separate one similar to it. It gives reason as to why Iron Man and Captain America can exist (and aren’t dead or old) at Avengers Campus. In this version of the Guardians Xander hasn’t been destroyed and Groot didn’t die (I have no idea why that would be the case).

Was able to ride this twice yesterday for the first time and absolutely loved it!! The theming after entering the building is amazing, I loved the queue, and the teleportation is such a smooth Transition and fast! The entire crowd in the room cheered when they realized what happened. The crowd definitely added to the experience, I’m 6’7” and fit comfortably in the seat with no knee issues unlike test track. It was a pure joyous experience and loved every second both times! No jerking or sudden turns that made it feel whiplashy. Blondie was my favorite song so far, especially when the entire car was screaming the song the whole ride. I give it a 10 for fun a 7 for theming and story, a 100 for song choices. It was a fun ride and I can’t wait for many more rides!! Thanks for the review.

@@MidwestBoom Truthfully it's the best way to do this, the reason being that you have so much continuity in shows and movies when it comes to the MCU that someone WILL slip up with something and that will get attention. Hell that seems to happen in the actual MCU itself as well, when you have that many shows and movies to deal with it's only a matter of time before something slips up with the continuity. It's FAR easier to control the ride when the continuity is it's own. Plus I'm pretty sure that Universal does that with Harry Potter as well.

Unfortunately the future world section of Epcot is still a construction zone. Not fun trying to weave around that maze of fences they’ve put up. I absolutely love this ride and think it’s a perfect addition to Epcot! I actually really like the story of the ride and how it fits into the park and it’s history. I also just love Epcot so it’s story not being totally MCU I’m totally down with. If this was at a different park, that’d be another story. While having some similarities to other Disney coasters I found the experience of this one very unique and enough to differentiate it. Easily the most comfortable and smooth while being one of the most thrilling in a Disney park, plus the rotating cars create a very unique sensation that you don’t get to experience on most coasters, especially indoors and in the dark. The helix around the moon is definitely a highlight. I can see the modernized space mountain criticism I’ve heard, but especially compared to Disney World’s space mountain this is 1000x better. Tiny disagreement I have is I don’t think the front row is all that great on this ride. I mean you’ll have so much fun in any row, but the middle and back cars you feel the coaster itself more, so for those who don’t do too well on coasters the front would be a good option. I do agree in the disappointment in lack of animatronics. Thankfully the screens and effects used are brilliant, plus the loading station and preshow scenes are fantastic, but really wish we could’ve gotten some solid animatronics. Wonder if most of the budget was paying the actors and maybe the tech and smoothness of the ride? Plus the fact that it’s a capacity monster. I also can’t stand the Disney virtual queue. Sure it’ll cut down on the wait time, for those that can get in it, but what if you’re on a once in a lifetime trip and your phone just happens to be one second too slow? Also especially at a park like Epcot, I like to wander and explore freely, I don’t want to find myself in American Adventure enjoying my moonshine sour suddenly needing to make it all the way back to my boarding group in World Discovery. I’d rather show up to the park, wait a couple hours the way god intended, then eat and drink heavily as one does at Epcot. I also dated someone that worked guest relations at Hollywood studios when Rise had the VQ, the horror stories I’ve heard, makes me feel for the cast members that gotta deal with the upset guests too. I have been lucky that I’ve been able to ride 8 times experiencing it with 4/6 six songs so I have a solid grasp on it. I absolutely love it and it’s easily the best Disney coaster, I rank it slightly below Hagrids, probably for Hagrids feeling more real despite the effects and screens on Guardians being pretty amazing in their own right.
@TheHorselessCantor
@TheHorselessCantor Жыл бұрын
Seemed like the VQ was refined based on what they learned from Rise, and lots of people are able to get on this vs. with how Rise was. In part, I think they had more confidence because this is a cap monster and is less prone to breakdowns. VQs don't work for slow, breakdown prone rides (like Rise) --- you must be able to trust the ride. (disclaimer: wasn't at the parks for the Rise VQ, only comparing what I read on blogs to my firsthand experience with the Guardians one)

Rode GOTG:CR 3 times on our recent visit, and was instantly my son & I’s favourite WDW ride, beating out our previous of Flight of Passage and even Rise of the Resistance (and I’m a first generation Star Wars fan). I’d never even thought of the lack of any animatronics on the ride until going through a number of videos, including your own, that describe the ride’s history and concept art. Yes, an animatronic Rocket would have been cool (as per BB8 etc on Rise). The music on the other hand did so much of the work for us (Conga, Disco Inferno & I Ran) - the marriage and interaction of ride mechanics, theming and music was just perfect. Excellent video - I’ve been reliving our recent trip watching it with the warm fuzzies and a huge grin on my face :)

I guess the only issue I really have with it is: why is this in Epcot? like Epcot deserved to have a non-IP roller-coaster, imagine if this was genuinely teaching you about the cosmos (like idk, watching the big bang happen or something) instead of comic book lore? It could have been a genuine way to make a fun and educational ride because Epcot is basically the only place where they can make that kind of thing work.

I love this ride so much but honestly? The virtual line is so painful. I mean for one, it means you can only ride it max 2x a day. The other big issue is it means you have to wake up at the crack of dawn to get in line virtually for it. From there, throw in the fact that it means if you wanna ride it twice, you have to pay for it. Drives me nuts. I would much rather do a two hour line three times than a virtual queue once. Also the fact that its 2 years old now and its still virtual drives me NUTS. On top of it, the virtual runs out insanely fast and its the reason my dad couldnt ride it with me which was messed up. This ride is easily disneys best, but the line makes it one of the many headaches that now comes with planning a Disney trip that they seem compelled to continue adding each time i go. Disney used to be relaxed and easy to plan and run through. Now every single day requires a shockingly painful amount of effort that leaves you more tired and burnt out at the end of your trip than when you began, the opposite of what a vacation is supposed to be. I wanna be able to rant instead about how this ride is classic Disney mixed with new technology, improvements in ride systems, and lessons they’ve learned through opening decades of rides… instead i have to rant about how aggravating it is to ride. Disney, we know you can do better. I know you can do better. YOU know you can do better. So cut the bs and do better. We are owed that much. As to coaster studios, amazing work as always and always a great time when one of your videos grace my timeline. Thank you for all that you do, it is very appreciated. Danny out.

It's sad that the UK never invests much in any particular ride. As far as I know the Smiler is the most expensive coaster at £18M, which compared to $45M for a big coaster like X2, and $300M for hagrids, just seems ridiculous. Alton Tower's new indoor RMC dark ride apparently only has a £10M budget, surely it's going to be terrible.

Went to Disney last month with friends, and we got 3 amazing rides on this! Went in spoiler-free, and wow. It was so awesome, like Space Mountain turned up to 1000! Hard to describe tbh. We got One Way or Another and Conga, so both of the fastest songs, and I think they were great fits for the speed of the coaster. Curious about how the slowest song, Everybody Wants to Rule the World, would feel, I agree that seems like an "off" choice based on tempo. I was lucky enough to get the front car and back car (back second to last row) and I thought the back was better than the front. Not a coaster expert, just a Disney fan so take that for what you will. (Also: yep, definitely not a spinning coaster, and that's a good thing. I have trouble with rapid spinning things, but this just rotates slowly to show you the parts of the story so I had no issues with it 😊)

My last (and also my first ever) visit to Epcot was Sept. 2021. Right before Remy & Guardians opened. I may have a reason to return. Time to give ElToro Ryan a call at 10:27

I was lucky to get one ride on it with my 3 friends. We got tears for fears and I think it was perfect. We boarded during a storm and walking out to a beautiful sunset to a reservation and fireworks show! Unanimous favorite. I wish Disney had more thrilling rides, at least one six flags level ride. RMC??? Lol

this is my top favorite disney ride in general. that's why i put the ride in my imaginary disney park, called disneyland florida, in tomorrowland as a gateway to avenger's campus the same way guardians of the galaxy: mission breakout was in disney california adventure before it went from being part of hollywood land to being part of avengers campus

I don’t think the majority of the GP will think about those reasons it doesn’t make sense while riding. They’ll notice charters but not say “hey, Nova Prime Is dead” or “Groot should be small” etc. They’ll simply enjoy the ride for what it is. While I’m sure many are fans of the IP most aren’t Marvel or coaster enthusiasts.

Living on the West Coast, Disney World isn't exactly next door but my wife and I do make the trip down to Florida occasionally (most recently in January 2021 while Disneyland was still shut down.) I generally like Epcot, but aside from a restaurant or two in World Showcase I think my wife would generally prefer to skip the park entirely when we go, or limit it to a half day and park hop later on. It's a physically very large park with a lot of space between attractions, so spending an entire day there can be physically demanding. Adding some new rides (this and the Ratatouille ride) will definitely make the park more appealing though.

As someone who has live in Florida my whole life, I love both Disney and Universal. I have to say, over the past 15 years or so, a lot has been added to both. The Disney park additions have been nice, I've enjoyed them, but some of the things Universal has added, all the Hogwarts/Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, Hagrid's, Velicicoaster have completely blown me away. This Guardians ride looks like a lot of fun and a much needed addition to Epcot, but it just doesn't feel as grandiose as the Universal additions. And that's a shame. Disney has the resources to make rides other parks just can't afford to do. For once I want Disney to create something that completely blows me away and makes me want to experience it hundreds of times.

You had a point with Nova Prime not being alive after the first movie. But also Charlie, Delta and Echo (Velociraptors) from Jurassic World were not alive after JW I. But do appear on VelociCoaster. But I guess to make a "fair" assumption that the events of "Cosmic Rewind" and "VelociCoaster" are during or before the events of their respective movie.

I think Disney would be better off just opening the stand by line for brand new coasters than them use virtual queue. It would allow people who actually want to ride the chance to go hardcore and get it. Or if they want to pay they could get the Fastpass or the Gene thing or whatever it is now, and skip part of the line. Compared to the virtual queue, where people could go hardcore to try to get on it only to not get a pass. People come to the park for these rides, and if they don’t get it than they will feel ripped off. This would likely mean that they are less likely to come back in the future.

Nova Prime survived the battle of Xandar. Judging by the fact that she's in it and we have the adult Groot instead of baby or teenager Groot I'm guessing that it is set after the events of Avengers Endgame.

I am a bit bias having loved GOTG and really enjoying the Eternals but i gotta say this is perhaps one of the best 3 new rides in the last 30 years - Indiana Jones at DL & Radiator Springs at DL being the other 2. This ride is like Space Mountain 2.0. The preshow with Glenn Close was awesome. Seeing the GOTG was great though I do question what part of the timeline this takes place with Adult Groot and no Mantis. The building facade and a lack of animatronics did take away from it but overall the ride itself was amazing. The ride music was perfect along with the coaster track. I would say i enjoyed this ride more then Smugglers Run and Rise of the Resistance. Almost a perfect 10.

Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom is the most expensive roller coaster. Can’t wait to go on Cosmic Rewind, Epcot really needed this attraction. It will stay busy until Tron opens up at Magic Kingdom. I honestly thought Tron would be better at Epcot though and this at Tomorrowland. 🤷‍♀️

At the moment Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is most expensive, being 300 million, but GOTG is rumored to have cost 500 million. Everest in comparison cost 100 million.

When Epcot was being built, there was a concept for a Mount Fuji-themed roller coaster in the Japan pavilion. Sadly, that idea never got past the concept stage.
