There were confirmed reports that Six Flags and RMC were well advanced in the conversion project for Le Monstre at La Ronde and this was meant to happen for the 2017 season which was the 50th anniversary of the park. Unfortunately, they couldn't figure out an agreement with RMC to align with Quebec/Canada laws and the use of non-local workers or something along those lines. The project eventually got parked and La Ronde added Titan (Giant Discovery) as a last minute replacement for that season. It really hurts to think that the layout plans of the RMC conversion do exist somewhere, that Alan Schilke worked on those at one point, and that we might never see those ever come to fruition. Maybe with the merger and new budget philosophy, this window will reopen for La Ronde...
@brianfoss5717 ай бұрын
It's be great to see those plans, although I have a hunch they'd have cut out the second half to create a Mobius layout like Twisted Colossus. La Ronde just isn't big enough for 8,000 ft of wood coaster track, but hopefully they can make the best of a bad layout with Titan Track or GG EPT.

I've spoken to various Le Ronde employees about it, it was never a legal issue about steel or labour laws or whatever rumours you've heard. It was a budget issue. Le Ronde couldn't afford it and had to "indefinitely postpone" the project.

Sooo glad you included Carowinds' Hurler on this list. Could you imagine a RMC'd Hurler, Fury 325, and a GCI or Gravity Group woodie in the old whitewater ride lot. Back to back to back!!!!! With that lineup along with Copperhead, Intimidator and Afterburn it will put Carowinds at or near the top of the traditional Cedar Fair parks. As a bonus, make Vortex floorless. It would make a great 7-10 year plan.

Wolverine Wildcat is actually on its way to being a great coaster. It got Titan Track and Gravity Group track that both reprofiled the first half very well. It legit gives good airtime. The location of Magnus Colossus is absolutely incredible and is what would revive the park. Regarding Coaster Express, I just loved you hahahaha. Everyone here asks about Coaster Express RMC. Coaster Express is really crying out for it, like you said. It's the perfect canvas for an RMC conversion. Enthusiasts who ask for it en masse and we make Parque Warner like the comments, Instagram stories and mentions hahaha. You know, we press it and the park ends up liking Coaster Express RMC's request. This doesn't mean anything, but we do know that both parks are aware of RMC's incredible option and will probably end up surprising the world at some point, especially Parque Warner Madrid, which is the most realistic for it to become a reality.

Last summer, Wolverine Wildcat was riding amazing. The airtime was great, and it was so smooth. It reminded me so much of Grizzly(KD). Both were very rough a few years ago, but now, both are mostly smooth, give great airtime, and RMC should stay far away from both. Honestly, I kind of liked Wolverine Wildcat more than Shivering Timbers on that visit. They are not taking care of Shivering Timbers at all. I know I am going to get a lot of flack for this, but I'd like to see one of Kennywood's wooden roller coasters get the RMC Ibox treatment. The coaster I am referring to is Racer. Not because it's painful, which it's only a little rough, but because it's just so tame for a racing roller coaster. I know Kennywood is geared more toward families, and Racer is kind of a landmark, but they do have some intense rollercoasters, and I think RMC'ing Racer is within their budget. It wouldn't have to be made super tall, but I think adding about 25 to 30 ft to it would suffice, and then they add some airtime and banked turns and make it more dynamic. Also instead of the old mobius loop layout where you only ride one side of the track, make a new modius loop layout where after completing the first side of the lift hill the track bypasses the station and goes directly to the second lift hill. So, one train gets dispatched from the station and completes one side of the track and continues to the second side of the track, and another one gets dispatched sometime later, so you race two times. I'm thinking sort of like a Twisted Colossus, but obviously, it's a smaller and less dynamic version of that. This is an absolute longshot, and I don't ever think it will happen, especially with how old the ride structure is, but to me, it could really use an upgrade and become a more dynamic attraction. Even if GCI or Gravity Group came in and did a retrack and reprofiled some track to make the turns more dynamic, I think it would be worth it. Like I said, there is probably a 1% chance this ever happens, but I think an RMC Racer would be a cool addition to Kennywood.
@CoasterComedy6 ай бұрын
The only problem is that racer is an ACE historic landmark. So they can’t just rmc it, but you’re right, that’s a sick idea
@Hiddenshadow766 ай бұрын
@CoasterComedy, the ACE landmark is exactly why I believe it won't ever happen. What I can say though is that Thunderbolt and Jackrabbit aren't as good of a candidate for a good RMC layout like Racer is especially considering the terrain of those two rides posing challenges. So absolutely an RMC conversion of any Kennywood wooden roller coaster will probably never happen but Racer would be my candidate over the other two.

@@Hiddenshadow76 your right. Racer would be a cool RMC. I wish it was likely
@megelizabeth94922 ай бұрын
Yeah, Racer is definitely pretty tame by today's standards (which makes sense, as it's one of the oldest surviving non-side friction coasters, in the US). It's basically a fun but tame family coaster with a notably unique layout and racing gimmick to make it stand out, and I think something like a a little re-tracking and re-profiling some of the hills and turns to make them a bit more interesting, (while still keeping it in the realm of family coaster) would be very reasonable. (I mean, Jackrabbit is very much a family coaster, but the airtime you get on that double-down is actually insane.)

Would be cool to see a video (maybe even a miniseries!) of you two taking a certain coaster model and sharing thoughts on which parks they could fit well at, kinda like the video you did for Axis a while back!

Amazing video as always! These picks are definitely more unique than the average coaster video.

Anaconda at Walygator Grand Est in France is a great shout! The park hasn’t had a new coaster since 2010 and an RMC would be a great stand out coaster alongside their B&M Invert Monster.

Wait!!! What? I’ve ridden a roller coaster you two haven’t ridden with shivering Timbers!? It’s one the the best woodies I’ve ridden. Y’all have to get on it!!!!

Timber wolf at worlds of fun. They have prowler and Zambezi zinger for other wooden coasters. That would make a great top 4 for a fairly small park.

RMC boss would do wonders for the chain the the least investment, what would that cost to convert? 15-17 million? Compared to B&M's thats a deal
@mikechalabi97637 ай бұрын
I know Worlds of Fun just got the reimagined Zambezi Zinger, but man... I really wish they would have RMC'd Timber Wolf. I rode it this year for the first time in 5 or 6 years, and it's just getting worse. I have a ton of nostalgia for the ride, but they need to do something to make it more consistently ridable.

there was a recent interview with a movie park employee and he said that bandit is by far their most popular ride. they count the numbers and every year it has the biggest draw from the crowd. they will only change the ride if they have to at some point i think most people ride it because woodies look great and not too extreme compared to looping coasters. a lot of people maybe also don't know that this is not how a woody is supposed to feel. so they might think this is normal.

Hot take: With El Toro riding rough last year, I would not be upset if it got an RMC conversion after a couple years.

I think the legend at holiday world would be great as an RMC. The layout i think is already good, but its very rough. I think it would also balance the lineup of coasters at holiday world well.

Loup Garou still exists outside of RCT?!? Mind blown... 😂

Bandit was my first Woodie and please just RMC it. I also would love to see Mammut as an RMC🎉

The Best part of Bandit? Is the fact that you are usually stuck on the brake run long enough for your head to clear so you do not fall over climbing out of the train..... Usually, but not always.

LOUP GAROU IS GREAT THE LAY OUT IS GREAT THE TRAIN IS GREAT
@danielvanced5526Ай бұрын
Agree, Loup-garou is rough. Fun, but uncomfortable. The queue first thing in the morning is massive, then like 5-10 min tops for the rest of the day.
@danielvanced5526Ай бұрын
The layout isn't bad though, better trains and a retrack maybe Titan track would smooth it out and make it just fun.

I have a friend from Brazil who rode Iron Gwazi with me. She said she wishes the same treatment would be given to Montezum at Hope Hari! 😅

Here me out. Kennywood has just enough space to RMC thunderbolt while maintaining the same unique double-round after the first drop. They have enough terrain to make it work and it would be amazing to see something come out of it. As much as I love it being my home park. It would be bonkers with the terrain usage.

I vote Hades at Mt Olympus. Imagine record tall smashing into the tiny hole under the parking lot.

I’ve always said that Great White at Morey’s Piers needs to be RMC, because not many people visit adventure pier. Great White and the Screaming Swings are the only 2 rides that are included with access to Surfside pier attractions, and Mariners Landing Pier attractions. Most for the rides on adventure pier cost extra to ride. Great White RMC would be awesome with a 360 degree barrel roll in the tunnel before the lift. It would change adventure pier and boost more people to this coaster.

I really hope American Eagle gets RMC'd, even though there's already goliath it would be so coooool as another dueling RMC.
@zachtucker49452 ай бұрын
American Eagle at SFGA can’t duel anymore because the supports are compromised, but there are thousands of foundations. It does make sense to me

ok so idk if this counts but i think giant dipper at santa cruz beach boardwalk could use some topper track or something. it just turned 100 years old and it’s like violently rough if you’re sitting in the back. the front is still enjoyable but last time i was there they weren’t even seating people in the last row. the ride is obviously super iconic so like def not a full rmc hybrid

Boss. SFStl was my home park. I loved American Thunder but this park NEEDS a new addition.

The best part about what RMC does as a company is their versatility, their long term plan. They put themselves on the map as a conversion company. Now, they're popular for their innovative ground-up creations. BUT they still have that history of converting old, shaky wooden coasters into works of art. So down the road, say 25-50 years, when all the current wooden coasters getting built DO need some love? RMC will still be there to be like "pick me pick me!" RMC is not going anywhere, the way they built themselves as a company has really ensured that. I have no doubt we will see more conversions down the road. Who knows what they will have come up with by then!o

How about RMC Wilde Beast at Canada’s Wonderland - I love the airtime it gives but it would be such an awesome RMC. There have been markers on the footers there similar to previous conversions, and that park could do with a non-B&M standout in my opinion.
