Most of his faults could've been avoided if he would chill out on the accelerator. Being fast is good for when you have your license, but when you're still getting used to the ropes, you just burden yourself. Decelerate when you're approaching junctions. It's not a race, it's a test in which you have to prove you can drive safely and responsibly. If you can do that, you have it in the bag.

To be fair regarding the engine oil question, when he pointed at the dashboard he wasn't wrong for some cars. I know modern BMW's don't have an oil dipstick and the way to find out the if the engine oil level is correct is by the display screen.

I only watch your videos and Conquer Driving, those are the only ones I have consistent confidence with what your saying is and isn't minors/majors. I just wanted to say that one of the edges Conquer Driving has over you channel is that his videos show the current speed and gear the cars in, and I think thats a very useful thing for learners to know. I passed my test a couple of months ago now and am just watching for entertainment, but great videos you have and obviously whats good about your channel is that you upload videos very regularly. :P

When I learned to drive - a good few years ago now - I was taught to change down when slowing/stopping. No-one seems interested in this skill these days, but it would certainly help Jad imo!

He’s definitely got a few bad habits, namely putting the clutch down unnecessarily and way too early, as well as accelerating too much sometimes. Take it easy lol

remember getting your license isn't the end goal-- staying safe on the road is. No point in passing 1st time and crashing within the first few months.

This is a long time ago now but when I was young I lost my drivers license, because young men should probably have a psychological test to be allowed to drive before they're 25. I was allowed to retake it 2 years after I lost it and I did this without any lessons. In my test drive the controller claimed I had cut a car off in a roundabout. I was able to tell him the color and make of the car and that I knew he was turning as well (which he did but was just an informed guess from me, I could've been wrong). I also said that I was going faster than him and he was far enough behind me (although still too close) so that even if he wasn't turning off as well it wouldn't have been an actual crash, just a close one. I passed. I think about that a lot, that thanks to my prior pretty extensive driving knowledge (about 90 000 miles before I lost my license) and apparently just a good enough explanation of what was technically a fault I still got my license back. I love telling that story, along with how during the mandatory skid test, when we were supposed to be shown how great ABS is I managed to stop the car earlier without ABS than with it. Again just because of experience thanks to being a reckless driver but still, felt pretty good.

I think if his forward planning was improved as well as slowing down more before junctions and roundabouts, then he’d pass his actual driving test 👏🏽 the coasting issue could be fixed by improving on those two things

Just watching this and realised that they drove past where i normally go to swim! it was a leisure centre just before Jad made the lane discipline serious fault at 16:50! just thought it's quite nice to see videos like this being filmed not a million miles off where i live! If Jad relaxes and let's the report to the examiner he will be alright. I think he was continous thinking what he did wrong so he distracts himself. If he does not do that he will pass with flying colours.

He seemed very nervous and anxious. When he was driving I couldn't understand anything he was saying. Most of his mistakes were avoidable if he just works on his speed. He also takes his turns too wide.

Hi Aman, thanks for these videos! Very helpful. I don't know if it's just me but is the back camera view flipped? For example, at 10:53, the double yellow lines are on the driver's left, so in the back camera view, it should appear on the right, however the lines still appear on the left. If the back camera view is flipped, then could you unflip it in your future videos please. It's really confusing.

I've got the same problem as Jad with regards to coasting. I put the clutch down and then the breaks because somehow I think breaking first and reducing my speed using the breaks will make the car switch off or stall lol

I truly don’t understand why people clutch down so long and coast before turning when they can just break, downshift, and use engine breaking as the car is designed to do. Much easier this way, plus you actually have control of your car.

Hi, only been driving for a couple years but passed the DIAmond Advanced Car Test last year and have a copy of roadcraft and highway code always in my car. So these are my observations from my own experience and teachings from roadcraft, I got to 11 minutes and had to stop watching as ran out of time. But here are my observational markings from the video. 3:26 fault for position 3:36: fault for mirror change direction 3:41: advisory check right before entering the junction incase of traffic 4:29 - do agree with forward planning and observations. Would have also applied handbrake to avoid ware on mechanical brakes Mirror checks on all three mirrors before moving off is important and as been stopped for some time, an over shoulder blindspot check would have been an advisory 5:02 traffic lights ahead are on red so would have slowed down more here anyway the situation changed and was not needed. 5:24 would have given a fault for clearance and because there was a vehicle behind for the sudden breaking. The vehicle moved lanes a serious fault maybe? 6:30 - sign for offside lane narrows and merges I would have advised a shoulder check for blindspot awareness. 6:44 - did not check offside mirror before moving to the right for the lorry. And no nearside mirror check on return. 7:00 - slow on the road markings, would have advised all 3 mirror check for Obs behind incase of the approaching hazard may need to brake 7:08 - there is an offside hazard with the van that may merge but a steady stream of traffic so unlikely to move, a nearside hazard at junction. The driver turning right on the nearside so advised centre mirror check for obs behind and bring down speed slightly to improve stopping distance. Have the drivers seen? Potentially change position closer to centre line to improve visibility for the driver in the nearside junction. However the road is narrow which the position looks safe. Also like you say a pedestrian crossing at the lights on green would have slowed down slightly here. As someone crossing the other pedestrians have a higher chance of following. 9:17: A blindspot check or shoulder check would be advised. 9:56 Coasting at high speed for considerable time. 10:33 Coasting. 10:35 Lane discipline to go straight on as could not see road markings to show otherwise. Although the RA was clear from the right so it would be possible to straight line it for additional car control at this time so I would not say this was a fault. But the speed into RA was made worse by coasting (though I often make the same mistake in my own driving so I need to improve on this myself) and the car had little to no control as engine was not engaged for engine braking. Lane discipline fault comes in later as the position shifts into the nearside and had there been a car there this would have resulted in a potential collision. 11:00 serious fault for sudden stop with vehicle behind? 11:10 would advise to check all 3 mirrors for good Obs behind and in case of motorcycle to the right or cyclists to the left 11:14 I would deem this dangerous as no check to the right when merging into traffic. What if there was an emergency response or a car jumping red lights? Potential collision could have happened. Better Obs advised. 11:27 traffic lights on red ahead, would think best to slow down earlier with good checks of mirror for Obs behind. Then the visibility improved and could see the straight on lane was green so I would not class this as an advisory.

The emergency stop is really dumb. I never had that in my driving test this lady just want people to fail and is sad. For my first time I had to take it with a lady and when we left the dmv building she immediately fail me for driving slow when clearly I had to stop in the line on the stop sign and if you can't see you can drive the car slowly to see if any cars are coming and it was the stupidest thing ever. 2 time I took it, it was with a guy and only made 3 mistakes and glad I pass it. And Yes the lady got fired because she wasn't doing her job right and failing everyone and I'm glad for that.

I have a Greek instructor, he once fell asleep during my lesson and I started to drive slowly so he doesn’t wake up 🌚 after a few miles of free driving he woke up and said “slow slow, careful around corners” ….dude I passed like 20 corners 😅😂😅😅

I'm surprised that this pupil has had 30+ hours of professional tuition. I would have expected a higher standard. He has a good attitude, so with the right further tuition, he should be OK. If he continues to abuse the clutch after he has passed, his motoring is going to be very expensive!

"Check blindspots for bicyclists" makes me wanna cry every time 'cause our country's animals would rather kill you than lose 2 sec, even if you're a pedestrian on a crossing limping as fast as you can, not to mention biking on the road. Don't indicate and then get angry because I couldn't read their minds to know they're gonna be turning

At 10:57 and 24:50 the same message is reiterated time and again -- putting the clutch down first makes the car go faster. Hardly ever have I heard such absurdity. According to the second Newton's law F=ma. An increase in speed means acceleration. To get acceleration, a force (or torque, in this case) must be applied to the wheels. Once the clutch is depressed, the engine is decoupled from the transmission. How torque can be transferred from the idling disengaged engine to the wheels, in this case, remains a mystery. Unless there is an intervention from the Holy Spirit. LMAO The only issue I go along with is that depressing a clutch pedal for a long time causes premature tear and wear on the unit, replacing of which can hit the car owner in the pocket big time. With the exception of slow-speed maneuvers, the clutch pedal should never be kept pushed down longer than necessary for shifting gears. If one wants to coast, shifting to N and releasing the clutch pedal all the way is the only correct approach. There is no difference whether a brake or a clutch is pressed first unless the road is slippery. But if a car is equipped with ABS, this issue becomes non-existent. Even a little education goes a long way. :)
