About the "Toro should be RMC'd" one... I genuinely don't understand why people want already good wooden coasters RMC'd. Yes I get it RMC makes good coasters, but they make good coasters out of old wooden coasters no one likes or cares about any more. Why would you ever close a coaster that's having no real issue? If it still pulls crowds, maintenance doesn't have mental breakdowns over it, the general public generally still enjoys it, why close it? People seem to be heavily forgetting that retracking a wooden coaster can be a significantly better option than RMCing it. If the layout is already good, then why not retrack it? If the coaster can't be saved even by retracking and/or it just does not pull the crowds any more, or it has a godawful layout that doesn't do anything, then sure put RMC into the "consideration pile". I don't like the trend of enthusiasts wanting EVERY wooden coaster over 20 years old to get the RMC treatment. At least leave some of them alone.

When it comes to front row vs. back row, I can't imagine an RMC being better in the front. Wicked Cyclone in the back, for instance, has this ridiculous amount of ejector. I've just never gotten quite as much in the front, and I think that holds true for a lot of RMCs.

Probably the only element on WC that isn’t as good in the back is the zero g stall, it’s much whippier in the front
@mikewalker49503 жыл бұрын
Twisted Timbers is way better in the front. The barrel roll drop is different and every airtime hill hits harder. In the back seat (generally) the airtime will get stronger as you go through the hill, but its more gradual, where-as in the front you get to the peak airtime in less time, so it ejects you more. Obv this only applies to straight camelbacks that hit the exact same strength in the front and back, the only difference is how quick you get to MAXXX FORCE. If the first drop is a big highlight of the ride, then it will likely be better in the back. This also applies to double-downs and straight crops from turn-arounds, but assuming equal MAXXX FORCE in the front and back then generally the front is better.
@Soonjai3 жыл бұрын
Out of the 200 coasters I have ridden there are only 2 I prefer in the front: Colossos at Heide Park and Taron at Phantasialand. Everything else is either better in the back or a ride where it absolutely doesn´t matter where you sit.
@noname117spore3 жыл бұрын
@@mikewalker4950 Honestly I think the build-up effect to the maximum force is better than quickly getting to the maximum force and immediately having it weaken. When you're experiencing the weakened force you're comparing it to the force that immediately came before it whilst doing that with the back row means that the force you are experiencing is better than the force you experienced immediately prior to that and as such the entire moment of airtime is quality rather than just the start of the moment.

On the Front Row Vs Back Row Debate I am with you on it depending on the ride with the exception of one coaster... Velocicoaster front and back row are entirely different experiences that are equally as amazing. The top-hat, for instance, front row you don't get ejected but as it begins its descent you find yourself almost falling into air time ( I know, this sounds crazy but you'll understand what I'm talking about once you have felt it) and the back row ejects you as you are pulled over the top. Both experiences are equally amazing, but very different at the same time. I actually enjoyed the back row on this one more than the front, but only fractionally. Typically I would agree that launched coasters are better in the front, but this one is an exception.

I think that DC rivals hyper coaster is the best Mack rides thrill coaster, Scooby doo spooky coaster is the best wild mouse, and superman escape is an elite intamin hydraulic launch coaster. Btw these are the big 3 coaster at my home park (Movie world, goldcoast).

alright. I don’t go on coasters much but there’s one in wildwood that REALLY stood out. The Great White. It was an amazing ride (And even able stand up to el toro not in air time but in pure fun)

Grizzly is the worst coaster I've ever been on, to be fair I was in the middle on a wheel seat but I got stapled so hard my legs were bruised and I had a pounding headache sitting on the brake run. And predator at Darien lake for me was rough but I was okay grizzly is on a whole another level of rough

west coast native, heres some of mine: - ejector is overrated - hangtime is underrated - positive g’s are massively overrated - xcelerator deserves props, especially bc it has a lap bar - x2 >>>> twisted colossus (even when its dueling) - banshee > montu (at least from an outsiders perspective) - totally agree with you that rattle doesnt matter, like hello people love when a wooden coaster has “character” - superman el ultimo escape is super fuckin underrated - six flags food isnt bad - this community can be kinda toxic especially when it comes to “”GP””

I disagree on positives and ejector (no force on a ride is bad imo) but the last one isn't an opinion, that's a fact

I definately agree with the Mine Blower take. When I went to Orlando in 2017 it was actually my favourite coaster of the trip. I've seen the Velosicoaster POV, don't see Velosicoaster topping it. Iron Gwazi might have a chance though. Keep in mind the ride was like 10 days old when I rode it and I could see the potential for it getting rough which some of my friends who have been down there since say has happened. But based on my rides, it is the best coaster in Florida. I also agree with the take on Candymonium. While I do enjoy it and it holds a special place for me having been my 200th credit, not gonna lie I prefer Apollo's Charriot (still a lower tier B&M hyper). And it really isn't close between them. It isn't the worst B&M hyper but it is the worst B&M hyper with airtime as the main focus. But my hot take on that is that's exactly what Hersheypark needed: you want intensity go ride Skyrush. As an enthusiast I definately prefer Skyrush but more shockingly Candymonium may not even be in my top 5 at Hersheypark. But considering what the GP think of Skyrush having Candymonium as the big GP croudpleasee is exactly what the park needed. I will say though, it's been almost a decade since Hershey has done something aimed at thrillseakers, their next coaster should be aimed at thrillseekers.

Here’s my controversial opinion. I hate steel vengeance for one reason. Those fucking restraints gave me bruises. It’s a shame, because the airtime is amazing, and the layout is fantastic. But I didn’t even get much airtime my first time because I was stapled by the ops. Again, it’s such a shame, because I was so pumped for Steve.

1: Riddlers revenge (snfe)> montu 2: Hulk is the best coaster in Florida that’s open right now. 3: s&s freespins are elite 4: kumba is just okay 5: Superman the ride’s restraints are better than RMC lap bars 6: roughness makes a coaster more intense and can make it better. 7: sky rocket 2s have the worst restraints on any coaster (not even counting the comfort collars) 8: b&m ots restraints = b&m clamshells

YESSSSSS someone else realizes how much SR2’s lap bar crushes u, by far the worst restraints I’ve experienced, also I agree Superman the rides restraints are actually good, they don’t even touch u unless ur stapled in the station or are getting airtime

Totally agree with the forbidden journey!!! The ride was ok, but as someone who has an ok strong stomach l, I was feeling nauseous for a while after. The best part was the queue, which was so good. If I go back I will wait in the queue again and just skip the ride

Railblazer is better than X2! I’ve been on both several times in every single seat and I have to say sorry but railblazer is beautiful. The pacing is incredible and you never get a break from the intensity where X2 is just rough and intense
