Update: Repeater is operational with good coverage in Cobb CA area. GMRS licensed operators are welcome to use repeater. Use DCS tone D017N.

Excellent video. Very informative! There are advantages to low power, over the air, free, with no CCP monitoring everything-comms.

Have a look at 3:48 I start talking about turning squelch off which is often referred to as "monitor" and then I talk about scanning which is monitoring all channels. the + and - buttons. Is there a question you have about that?

When the all channel scanning is on, and when u press PTT key, will every channel can here u or just the channel u r on?

Just the channel where the scan stops, so it is a bit like Russian roulette... you may not know what channel you are on!

Hey, i have a little problem with that same model, i gave the wt to some guy to talk at work, but when he returned it back to me, it was in japanese language, and he doesn’t know what happened. So I wonder if you know how to change the language back to English. He never used a program cable, so there must be a combination of buttons to change language. Thanks!

Wow! Without a cable I wouldn't think that could happen. Maybe it got reset to factory settings? I recommend contacting Retevis support, they are really responsive. I have a feeling you will need a cable to fix.

@@seriouspipes 1. Turn on the radio and set it to channel 16 2. Turn off the radio 3. Press and hold the + button while turning the radio back on. 4. You will hear the "Power on - 16" message, but in Chinese. Perform the steps again to change back to English. Credit goes to 'Jacob Explains' channel on youtube. 🥳

.5 to 2 miles average, in mountainous conditions, which also means we've achieved 6 miles from peak to valley on 2 special occasions. It's more than an FRS toy, just a shade weaker the 4-5 watt commercial radios I own.

.5-2 miles normally, but with clear line of site 5+ is common and we've had one user make a 60 mile contact! ( mountain to mountain)
