Ty Cobb (from Georgia) heard about the new unheard of drink called "Coca Cola" & invested big, becomming overnight a multi-milioaire.

Not a bad film but there should have been LOADS more footage of Cobb's baseball career. Tommy Lee Jones makes this movie worth sticking with.

This movie might be entertaining, but it is _FILLED with fiction and outright lies!_ Ty Cobb, like many of his era, was a scrappy hot-head, but NOT a racist, NOT a murderer, and NOT a boozer! He was _provably_ a philanthropist and _backed African-Americans integrating in _*_all_*_ sport!_ His life has been fictionalized “to the max” for salacious folklore. Huge disservice to one of the all-time greats. ☹️

In Howard stern interview with Jim Carey, Jim says that tommy Lee met him first on the set of batman forever and said "I hate you, I cannot sanction this buffoonery" about dumb and dumber which I think opened the same weekend as Cobb and did better.

Well there is an answer to that us being a modern age and twelve year olds hating baseball and adoring football, leads us to understand we are jerks who do not appreciate the past and it's heroes. I asked my friends who Bo Jackson was and they didn't have a clue. And he played everything and brought their precious Nike shoes to a popular understanding. In a simple sentence. Modern age people are just downright hateful to the old and suckups to the new.

There's too many people around that just sits back and accepts the shit that gets thrown at them. Ty Cobb was one guy who did not, If you pissed him off, you'd better be able back yourself up, because he would've stomped you into the ground. There were facets of his personality that admittedly were really objectionable. As a Baseball player, he was the best there ever was. This portrayal was way over the top and contains more than a smidge of Hollywood sensationalism.

holydiver73 A great era for baseball. Playing semi pro ball when he was a teenager for his city and then in the major at a very young age. Old school guys never got hurt and never had to take a day off. Little pay so you learn to play with what pains you had.

I too found this to be such a powerful revealing film, And having read the biography that was being written in this film, Cobb Is portrayed Lividly well and accurately. It was a film of deep acting and powerful cinematography.

Michael Fugate, Just goes to show how easily history can be manipulated, warped and changed - even in a very short time. We humans especially love salacious and defamatory stuff about our celebrities and every industry and endeavor needs its boogeymen. 👍

If you attempted to steal on satchel Paige he'd run over there and tag your ass out. This movie had some of the most memorable funny quotes. I can say personally that Calvin Coolidge and that damn cat of his weren't any fun at all.

Tommy Lee Jones is one of my favorite actors of all-time and did an awesome job in this film. However, Robert Duvall would've been a more accurate fit since he looked more like Ty Cobb but the only problem is that he was too old.

This movie is so false it’s pathetic. Tommy lee is amazing. But how embarrassing for him to play a role based on a fictional book. Al stump was a con. Who in many articles from many reliable resources. Just google stuff people. Even KZfaq has stuff. Al stump did a lot of criminal things. And it’s a shame his book of lies got so much publicity and eventually this fictional movie.

Ok movie,a lot of fabrication of Cobbs life. Not liked by most, but his getting in the BHOF was near unanimous. His peers might have hated him but they certainly respected him for his skills o the diamond.
