I like Johnny now too. It was Kreese who made him such a ruthless bully in highschool. Plus, Johnny has grown up more now, and he has a sympathetic side which has come out now that he's older. He didn't show it as a teenager because he was a teenager, and because of Kreese

First season has a perfect balance of a sport drama from back in the day, it has gritty realism, kids acting like kids struggling with growing up, and comedy relief without dishonoring the legacy characters' personalities.

You can't get the full amount of entertainment out of this show without knowing the 80s movies. Someone watching this who doesn't know those movies would've just seen Miguel's costume as just some skeleton costume, no big deal, and that's it

Am I the only one that loves this series much, much more than the actual original movie trilogy. Both seasons are PHENOMENAL!! I can't wait until Season 3 starts. It is also awesome that Ratt's Lay It Down is being played at the beginning of this episode. I was five years old when the first movie came out and I was all about the Cobra Kai even back then. It is so awesome that this series focus's more on Cobra Kai than Daniel Larouso. Three movies was enough about him.

Johnny temporarily saved Miguel from those bullies outside the convenience store Plus johnny saved Miguels life after that vicious Halloween evening beating - that took class so not only did myagi save danny's life within the original karate kid film - myagi also saved johnny from a lengthy prison sentence so he wouldn't have been able to become the new mister myagi
