I really thought it was going to be more difficult than that. Way to make something so sophisticated completely user friendly. I’m really happy with mine so far. I love how solid it feels on the discharge and when retracting the blade. It’s a really satisfying tool to operate.

I absolutely love my Cobratec knife. After a year of use, it started not wanting to lock in the open position. I bought the screwdriver and disassembled the knife. As I suspected, there was buildup of sticky material from using my knife to cut packing tape while opening boxes. I thoroughly cleaned the blade, spring, and housing with alcohol. I elected to not introduce a lubricant, because I feel it will only cause dust and lint to build up. If anything, I think I will use graphite. After reassembling my knife, it now has that original “snap” like when it was new. This was a super easy process, and it was great to learn how this knife functions inside. I would buy another Cobratec knife in a heartbeat.

I'm really impressed with how easy and straightforward the disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of this OTF knife was. Designing this excellent knife to be so user-friendly is a big bonus in value in my opinion. My wife carried this knife every day and when it didn't lock in battery a couple of times, I figured it needed cleaning and lubing and that was all it needed. Cleaning out the pocket lint and a couple of tiny drops of Rem oil as recommended solved the problem. Thanks for a great knife and a very well-produced and understandable video.

Fantastic ! I was so worried about voiding my warranty of I took it apart. I've used a silicone based lube on all my other switch blade knives. It works good with no build up or dust accumulation. By the way I'm loving my new Cobratec of knife.

I just got my knife from cobratec after it need a small fix and the warranty dept went far and above the fixing the little window breaker the service is outstanding and they really do warranty there stuff it's hard to a company that really stands behind there stuff 100% but cobratec really does stand behind there knifes 100% I will be getting another knife in the future 👍👍👍👍👍👍

I just ordered the Cobratec Lightweight with a tanto blade in black. I cannot wait to get this knife; gonna be my EDC along with my Leatherman Crunch.

I’m gonna try cleaning mine today to see if it’ll help. The knife the last few weeks keeps getting caught up and won’t deploy. Driving me nuts while I’m working. Hopefully a good cleaning and some oil will have it back in business.

Am about to purchase one. I saw them at a shop, but they don't have the handle I'd like. But... some of the ones that had were harder than others to open and close. Can you tell me how to make it easier to open and close it so I can make sure I can use mine once it arrives? Thank you!

FYI: I had to lift the center round pin to get the blade out of the knife body, the underside drops into a slot the prevents the blade from sliding completely out of the body.

Is there a recommended cleaning frequency schedule?

I just bought a large CTK1 and a Diablo, the Diablo for work. But, both knives are pretty dull. They won’t even shave the hair off my arm. I’m going to be shipping the Diablo back for sharpening and to correct a rolled over tip. Does anyone have any sharpening suggestions? My CTK1 has the dagger blade, which is the one I’m more concerned with sharpening because the beveled shape of the dagger blade makes it harder to get a more precise angle. I may just send both back for sharpening at the same time.

Do all OTF replacement blade fit all? I have a Light weight OTF. Ex. Will a CTK-1 blade fit a light weight cobrateck knife?

Had one for about a year now and just cleaned it but noticed one of the side plate screws is stripped it doesn’t tighten along with two on the pocket clip retaining screws. Kind of disappointed, for it being a $80 knife I would expect the screws to be stripped. Other then that it’s worked great.

Are these regular Torxs screws? I just picked up the small gentlemens otf. What Size driver do I need? Thanks for the video!

Will motor oil work

Hello, I recently received a Cobra Tec King Cobra otf in the mail . I have been really liking this knife until recently . I've had it about a week now and lately it started to derail when firing about every 4th or 5th button push . I took it apart , cleaned and lubricated it and now it's worse . It will retract / close and lock but it won't engage fully and lock into the open position . I followed the disassembly / reassembly instructions exactly and actually repeated the process numerous times but it's still failing. Is there something else I should try ? It seams like the spring isn't powerful enough now . I'm thinking I may need to send it in for repairs / warranty replacement . I did register it on the Cobra Tec website right when I received it . I did really like this knife and wanted to keep carrying it . I'm hopeful to get this resolved . Thanks !

I just ordered the lightweight. What screws do they take? I see every other otf has a spare set of screws for the specific knife. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. Torque heads strip out over time in my experience.

Chad I accidentally dropped my CobraTec from about 3' off the kitchen table to the floor the other day and since then it only locks into place like every other ejection....I have to keep manually locking it by pulling on it over and over again...Very frustrating being that it wasn't a very high fall. So now when it ejects it won't lock and the blade just pushes back in freely. I took it apart based on this video and double-checked that everything was in the right place (it was) and it still won't lock...Any suggestions (other than don't drop it) would be helpful. I bought like seven of them for Christmas gifts for clients this year and will buy more if they're reparable... Let me know....Thanks

My otf is stuck... the blade won't go past 1 inch and is locked... how do I fix this? I can't get the blade out
