Amelia Earhart’s body was never found, they thought the skeleton belonged to her but it didn’t and no remains of her or her copilot were ever found. In 1991 scientists found a piece of aluminum that was perceived to have been from her plane… but after analyzing it they determined it was from a WW2 plane and not Earharts plane… I don’t know why the person who commented would correct the content creator but then provide incorrect information themselves… Amelia Earhart, her co pilot, and her plane remain a mystery to this day

As a Malaysian kid, I always passed by a seafood restaurant of a small shopping complex whenever I walked to primary school. I remember seeing coconut crabs in a cage and asking my dad about it. Two weeks later, I see a giant hole in the cage and spotting a coconut crab making a run for it (albeit very slowly) down the corridor. That was the first time I was baffled beyond comprehension.

It is possible for a coconut crab to mistake a sleeping human for a dead one but unless she went into a coma after the crash there’s no way she would’ve gotten eaten alive and she probably survived the crash but died due to starvation or other circumstances later or if you wanna be creative she could have been eaten alive by coconut crabs but didn’t have enough energy making her too weak to do anything to save herself but that’s unlikely.

Poor Amelia. She landed on the island to take a little breather from the flying, and was abducted by coconut crabs, who had taken over the island. They originally took her to their king, he took a liking to her and they were married after only dating for a week. But the king had a bit of a drinking problem, something Amelia thought she could get him to quit. She realized getting him to quit was just not going to happen and she started losing interest in the king after catching him kissing a monkey while drunk and claiming he thought it was her. She began seeing the kings own brother behind the kings back. The king would find out about this and had Amelia arrested and thrown in the dungeon. It was around this time that the king sold her airplane on craigslist. One night, in a drunken stupor, he pulled Amelia from the dungeon and declared a feast for all the crabs of the island and began eating her. The kings brother tried to intervene and a brutal fight to the death ensued. The king was not exactly on point with his fighting because of his drunken state, and the brother was fighting viciously because he was on PCP. The king would lose the fight and therefore his crown. The brother would be declared the new king of the island, but in the craziness of it all he failed to realize that the fight was in vain, the other crabs had eaten poor Amelia already. The brother would never get over her death, for he truly loved her. He would take his own life with a shotgun immediately after, leaving the crabs with no king. Which they were okay with, they didn't really need one, because they are just crabs.

I mean even if the bones were hers, it is unlikely that the crabs actually killed her. If they are her, she was probably either already dead or heavily wounded. There has never been a record of these crabs doing harm to humans even though they definitely can. Even if they did try to kill her, it would've been easy for her to escape.

I love hermit crabs but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT ever buy them in painted shells. the paint is usually toxic and they will eat it and get sick, as well as any other crabs in the tank. also if you get a hermit crab get it a friend. they are social creatures and will get sad if they are all alone. sending all my love to the other hermie keepers out there

You just shouldn’t ever really buy hermit crabs. They’re almost all wild caught because don’t breed well in captivity, and they need specialist conditions to thrive, like super deep sand they can bury themselves in to shed their skin and very high humidity. They also need to live in groups; in the wild, groups of hermit crabs will gather and as they grow, they all trade shells, so each one moves into the shell of a friend who is slightly larger than them, and that one moves into the shell of another that is slightly larger than it… it’s an awesome social event that is meant to be a regular part of a hermit crab’s social life. If you want some idea of how thoroughly crap we are at keeping them in captivity, it’s worth knowing that in the wild they can live for 30 years. But in captivity? They die off very quickly, you’re lucky if you get a few years out of them. Hermit crabs are awesome and super cute, but if you buy a colony of hermit crabs - and again, they should be living in decent sized groups, not just pairs or trios, and never, ever alone - you should know that they’ve almost certainly been ripped from their home, a life in the wild, and they’re coming to you to suffer slowly and die tragically young. If you’re not a zoo, not a marine specialist, not a hermit crab specialist, you don’t have the resources and space and time to dedicate to replicating their natural environment well enough to give them a life worth living, just don’t.
@lauralynnwilliams2338
@lauralynnwilliams2338 Жыл бұрын
@Tra La I totally agree. I bought mine when I was young and didnt really know better. With good care they can have long healthy lives (had mine for 4ish years). The problem is people are severely undereducated about how to care for them.

In many Pacific nations, they are most definitely "ON the menu", and are considered by many to be quite the regional delicacy. However, as I recall, they must be cooked properly, and thoroughly, because of the possibility, and the minor risk, of some kind of parasitic infection. Nothing that's really dangerous, I don't think, but it can certainly make a person sick for a little while. 😫🚽 Properly cooked though, they're supposed to be really good! 👍
