Chef Rose of Caro and Marie, Cebu

Most of us started our baking journey with making coconut macaroons because they were the easiest to make, they did not require special tools and equipment, they did not require baking skills, they do not rise so it could not possibly flop. You can bake these macaroons in the oven, on a stove top, on an oven toaster, in a microwave and even in an air fryer or a turbo broiler. In this tutorial, aside from the classic macaroons, I am showing you how to make two of my favorite variations - pineapple and chocolate chips. Try making them this summer with the kids. Perfect activity for bonding and learning.

I was wondering, Chef Rose, if we can use sapal instead of dessicated coconut?

Sapal is very dry because it has no more liquid and fat. It has no flavor too. Do not use sapal in place of dessicated coconut. Dessicated coconut is simply dried grated coconut with all the milk and fat intact.

I use 3/4 oz baking cups and I made about 48 pieces more or less. I am not very sure of the exact number since this video was made a long time ago and I forgot. Thank you for watching.

Okay lang ba chef walang pineapple flavoring at ang juice lang nang pineapple gamitin? Will it taste the same?

If you use juice instead of flavoring, you need to adjust the flour in the recipe. In my opinion, flavoring is better for this recipe because you will need a lot of juice to get the pineapple flavor which would mean you have to make a big adjustment in the proportion of ingredients.
