Hey Griffpatch, I love your tutorials and never stop please! Also, with the cat sprites, I replaced them with the "Guy" character and I traced all the animations so I can use the hitboxes for my little "Guy" and isn't it just so nice that you are someone that contributes to the community to help us with trouble in need. Dang, I thought hitboxes and slope costumes were for clones and lists but no, just a switch costume got the job done!!! Griffpatch is the only one I can think of to pull this off.

I just can't understand how this man has so much creativity and brain for making this kind of projects, right now, I'm trying to learn to program in java with my Dad's knowledge about programming, I have an idea for a videogame, but is really big. I hope some day I could program like you, and if some day, I finish of making the videogame, I'll make you know for that you give me your opinion, you are great! IMPORTANT!!! On coding the Animations - Stand pose on Slopes/flat tiles On it you should Copy and Paste/ Replicate the exact order as in the video Stand Hitbox 0-4 Should be After the Standing poses Replicate everything in order as it is n the video ( 14:21 ) From Sprite 1 to the final number ( depending how much you have done sprites for more customization Reason being? You Could get in trouble with *wrong poses* while *standing* i got this issue tried to replicate the same code again checking that everything was same the problem was that the Stand Hitboxes were in the wrong order and the Pose sprites too to counter this Make sure to have it in the dedicated order as in the video or you May find some trouble i even added Blank sprites for wall slide/wall pose Stay scratching everyone ;)

@@rajas5182 it could be either on Coding blocks like even a little mis input like accidently putting a Smaller then > instead of bigger then < Or other but yeah my issue was only for the set being all over the place with sprites so the animation didnt go properly

It shows hitbox v2 for me instead of the normal hitbox or scratch cat. Do you have a solution?

@@kokosplatking is your Costume list in order as the video shows it to? There is the Animation part - capping at 16'th cat or Sprite costume depending on the character If you have hitbox v2 on Below the 16 mark then it shows it... and if you dont have the Cap at 16 block Thats all i can say from little context and i hope this sloved it like it did for me I did just ignore it at first and went to the next episode if that helps as a some sort of way on how i got it fixed Goodluck on scratching

I just thought it might be interesting since it would combine a bunch of different projects you've already covered. It would be tile based with randomly generated mazes and enemy pathfinding. The new stuff you'd need to cover is making the player and enemies snap to the tile grid, have the enemies only move when the player does, and then the turn based combat. I know this would get really complicated quickly so I understand if you don't have time for something like this but I thought I'd ask anyways.

can you do vertical scene switching by simply making a new block like the scene switch block except all the "x" variables are replaced with the corresponding "y" variables and making the "set x" to "set y", then adjusting the coordinates carefully?

I have a quick question for another episode, could you make a tutorial on how to make a sort of waiting stance like Sonic, kind of how if you leave him standing there for a few seconds, it plays an animation? I think it would really look good for Scratchy. Edit: Also maybe jump sound or just a full-on sfx tutorial, because no matter what I try, the sfx for my jump never plays.

maybe you found your answer, but: if not walking/jumping/etc: variable + 1 every idk 0,01 second if variable = (your number): play your animation and your need to set this variable to 0 every time player doing something (its pretty simple tutorial, improve it for good results)

I am very surprised at the attention to detail in this series! Most games don’t even consider adding slopes or different standing poses.

i have a bug in my project after i coded and used slip and colide blocks i can run to a wall go inside it and it just doesnt stop going up unless i get out of the wall can someone help me?

**SOLVED** PROBLEMS WITH FEET LEVELING So if you have checked your code 10 times over like I did, and your feet still do not angle on the slopes, the code is FINE! The problem is in the angled hit boxes. Transferring them in the backpack causes their origins to get reset. To fix the issue, you must reposition the angled hit boxes to the feet. Cut and pasting the appropriate angle costume to the hit box costume temporarily will help re-align them properly. I was pulling my hair out and moved on to wall slides tut. That’s when I noticed my wall slide hit box was centered and not sticking out like Griff’s! Fix that one too. Hope this helps!

I need help. My feet leveling only goes to one level one idk how to explain it but no matter when I am the cats feet costume is on the 4 and 5 stand costumes, even when I'm on something flat his feet are like that. Idk what to do please help me bro and also I did put the hitboxes at his feet like you said but it didn't work

@@lugland i had something similar of Wrong pose on standing placements to Fix it i had to Replicate each costume number in the exact same order as in the video from Walking animations first to then random hitboxes that come in the future ( the next tutorial with the wall pose ) i went as far as putting Blank sprites in the middle of the others to fill in the same number of sprites in the same order it worked i hope you understand it! but check that it matches with ( 14:21 )around there Mix/ Match each sprite number in the same order fill in the wall pose with blank/nothing if you want hope this helped!
