Current theory: Fenrir: a company which made a very sustainable and highly functioning anti aragami solution: God Eaters. Ceberus: a company that attempted to make an anti aragami weapon but failed horrendously: Revenants and the Rampaging Queen. Their blood thirst also a significant drawback.

Guys, the ending of the character calling out "Io" heavily implies she's alive and coming out to see you. Why else does your character pause and turn around? It's her coming to tag along with you for the upcoming DLC's.

I got this ending on my first try. I really thought I was gonna end up on that throne and just stay there for all eternity. I was prepared for that, but I wasn't prepared when Io took my place instead and turned into a tree. I was so sad, I actually cried a little. I loved her so much. So I'm hoping that she was there the protagonist turned around and said her name in a surprised voice.

Ya know... them all standing near the opening of the red mists i can't help but notice something. that's like the perfect squad composition for A God Eater team. 4 Revenants and an Operator.

I won’t lie, I cried when Io sacrifices herself like that. It broke my heart. I know this will sound strange, but she was my favorite character. Yeah she was emotionless, but I loved her. She was definitely my favorite to travel around with. Her lines were also the least annoying to me lol I will miss her. I got this as my first ending as well, so now I will be going through and getting the other two... but I’m kinda scared to. Because I’m assuming we’ll get DLC, and if the DLC goes off of our specific ending, I want it to go off of this one.

How it feels when you missed one fing vestige and dont get this ending

I can't believe I missed this ending just because of that one vistage that I got _after_ Nicola's boss fight - the one behind the locked gate near the first mistle of the map. Let the little knight die and now I get the ending of my character sitting on the throne forever and the Successors stuck in their monstrous forms. Guess I'm forced to do NG+ now. Salty!

I wish we could add glow effects to our eyes.. I really liked the eyes of our MC during the Queen transformation in the Bad Ending.

Along the way they encounter some aragamis fighting God Eaters and start to learn all about the world.

So I am not ashamed that this ending makes me cry everytime. Io has the best character arc in this game and this song breaks me everytime.

I remember forgetting to restore Nicola's memories and locked the good ending. I think in a few months or a year, I'll replay this game then get the best ending.

Next game name is Code Eater, just sreen it.

Though the timing in their stories are different, Io's sacrifice has the same feels as Aeris' "death" in FFVII.

What I loved about this ending is that I got it on my first run since it rewarded me for one thing I've always done every time I played a new game. Explorations, and talk with all npcs. Also, since I love Io I took her with me all the time, and damn, this ending is perfect. Now I just need to wait and hope for a really great dlc, and wish they bring my Io back so we can explore the outside world together as she wanted when I gave her a geisha noodles.

Ironically, slightly disappointed they did not go the full 100% anime cheese ending. As I really wanted to see Cruz being revived doing these things (using her powers as the "queen" to maintain the mist and supply blood beads) Kinda dumb everyone got revived, even Silva who was revived offscreen, but Cruz remains dead. Would like to see a second game though, especially if its going to cross over with God Eater.

To the creators of this great game you already know what we want not just a sequel but a crossover code vein and god eater it *MUST* happen so before the begging and the petitions start just go on ahead and get started on yout next masterpiece I will be playing every god eater again while watching anime while I wait

So if I’m getting this straight the Horrors (Aragami) appeared out of nowhere one day and so the first generation Revenant where made to combat them. But in the background scientists were making the QUEEN to get rid of the Horrors (Aragami) altogether but she frenzied, and so the second generation Revenants were made to stop her and when they did Silva made the red mist to keep the Horrors (Aragami) out to protect everyone. But in time that was spun a different way and became that humanity outside was perfectly fine and the red mist was made to keep the Lost and bloodthirsty Revenants in. So it could be said that Revenants were humanity’s first attempt to combat the Aragami. Seeing as Lindow was in his mid 20’s in the first God Eater game and he said he was a kid when the Aragami appeared, and the moon isn’t green in this game (someone fact check me on that) this game would take place between the end of God Eater Burst and I’d say 5ish years before the start of the first God Eater. (And if the moon is green, seeing as how there has been at the very least 4 generations of Revenants, when Louis and everyone leaves it could put them at the time GE3 which would make sense because they are constantly updating GE3, but most of all I just want Io back, if they could bring Romeo back from the dead in 2 then they can do it here as well.) So then see you all in Code Vein 2 or maybe an update in God Eater 3 (I really hope it’s Code Vein 2 as I thought that the combat in Code Vein was far more satisfying that in the God Eater games because I was going at things by myself I would actually have to change my gear and weapons depending on the boss I was fighting, but I would also like to see everyone in the outside world fighting Aragami and trying to find a way to revive Io) Also if you think about what Mido said the Revenants don’t evolve while the God Eaters are constantly evolving in order to fight the Aragami, seeing as in 3 generations of God Eaters they got the ability to manipulate their blood and effectively weaponize it much like the Revenants while the entire time the Revenants existed they haven’t changed one bit(although that would also mean that all Revenants are equivalent to the 3rd generation God Eaters in the Blood Unit), but I understand where Mido is coming from. And one more thing how are they going to get blood bead/human blood when they are outside? No one knows how far another settlement is away from the mist and because the Aragami don’t have ichor how are they supposed to use their gifts, unless oracle cells are compatible with their gifts seeing as Revenants were made to fight Aragami in the first place

Here's how I think the endings work: -Bad ending: You take all relics for yourself, which then overpower you, frenzying you; -Good ending: You put your purpose in jeopardy when you didn't take all relics, inspiring Io to take the lead. Being a construct rather than a true Revenant, her mutation is affected differently by the Relics. Although, I find everyone returning to normal incredibly unrealistic. If they turned to trees too, but created replicas, I could buy it. That doesn't happen, it's too Disney like; -Neutral: You did not take every relic, so you didn't frenzie. However, your body still couldn't handle it, so you fell commatose. All you can do now is hope one day you'll wake up with the necessary strength to save who's left.

I need to somehow get that ending where you leave.

*[Possible Theory 1]* Code Vein takes place in a small world within God Eater Universe, what is possible is that The Revenants are the first project for the creation of God Eaters as Mido wanted to enhance humanity through evolution with the power of Aragami outside the Red Mist. We have no idea if his research spreads outside the Gaol of The Mist. Hence why the Great Collapse is like an event in God Eater series where the landscape transformed, It just filled with Oracle Roots *Those Black Spikes that glows* So what I believe is Code Vein is a Prequel to God Eater series, as Mido stated that Revenants and Project Queen was created to fight the Horrors *"Aragami"* but as the story continues, we knew it failed. *[Possible Theory 2]* Also in God Eater Universe, but it takes place between God Eater 1 & God Eater 2. If you play the game and use some Revenant weapons when you hold down your heavy attack it has similar follow up attacks that look like Blood Arts from God Eater 2? It is possible that in *"Dweller in the Dark"* ending you and your friends went outside to venture beyond the Red Mist, which we know it's filled with Aragami. Perhaps they met a fellow God Eater throughout their adventure and returned to Fenrir HQ for research of revenant's blood. There must be a reason why Special Blood Unit God Eaters have the word *"BLOOD"* in them. Also not to mention the Red Rain in God Eater 2. What if the rain has something to do with the Red Mist that might have dispersed into the clouds and caused it.

Pissed I didnt get this ending. Why the hell did I waste time collecting everything 100 preventing everything to get a crap ending. I didnt put together the little boys memory before I fought him. Thought it was sad he died despite everything to only realise on the next one that i needed to combine them before the fight. Definitely not playing through again just to make one single decision differently. That kind of stuff in games sucks balls. Feels like I wasted 15 plus hours for nothing.

My best guess, Io sacrifce takes place before GE1 then when they leave the mist it takes place during or after GE3. "In the years io sacrifced herself.." Louie said years but we dont how long since then becuz they are revenants after all. Hmmm

Ok. We get the "To Eternity" ending, which apparently thats the Neutral Ending and then this one, "Dwellers in the Dark", which is the True Ending. All thats left is the "Heirs" ending =w=

Beat the game with this ending a while ago and i hope the dlc is not the outside world because they could make a code vein 2 with more revenants going outside the mist and etc but low key i dont think the game is connected to god eater but i believe it is based off god eater

In my ending i end up on the throne whit Io turning to stone holding my character hand. i though that was the good ending lol. But then i remembered when i beat nicola i had missed one super easy vestige to find and i found it after... prob why i did not get that ending...but i aint playing and getting the vestige over again.

I've been reading a lot of the theory comments on here, to pre-face this i haven't fully played through GE:Resurrection or played GE2:Rage Burst at all, I intend to but haven't got around to it yet, so with that said here's my theory. I think Code Vein takes place sometime during God Eater Resurrection, and before Shio sacrifices herself to stop the Arius Nova. Because during Resurrection, when shio sacrifices herself she goes to our moon and basically turns it into a mini-planet. I would think we would see that in Code Vein while looking at the moon. But we don't. However we do see a Dyaus Pita. The Dyaus Pita, from my knowledge, didn't exist until the events of GE:Resurrection so i have to think that Code Vein takes place some time during Resurrection, and maybe slightly before it. Because we don't see the moon changed, but we do see a Dyaus Pita. And a side note: I think a Time skip happens at the true ending, i could be wrong it's a little awkward but base on what louis says im inclined to think so. Anyway, that is my theory, i may add to it later if i think of anything else, feel free to add to it as well. (as a relatively recent fan of the God Eater universe, i was initially put off, for admittedly stupid reasons, by the God Eater Universe but i have steadily warmed up to it. Especially now with Code Vein, and am eager to hear all the theories and to find out how Code Vein will tie into God Eater. And what the effects Revenants will have on the world as a whole.)

The whole story is really similar to god eater resurrection, in God eater resurrection the Shio did same thing to sacrifice herself in first part of ending. Hope they can add more God eater weapons or clothing.

Hmm my guess is, code vein takes place the same time or right after GE3... It just that they are either trap in there for so long or the red mist ask like a time capsule like thing. Anyway i think that code vein is in a place that god eater cannot go near yet or have no knewledge of it & now that they are release a 3rd force joins the war between God eater & Aragami... Its also did not mean that they will fight along side them.

It was a good game, but I do not understand their reason to give us a silent protagonist and then let him speak at the end. I would rather have a talking protagonist with some personality so I could enjoy the game to the fullest.

If there is any DLC to be done with Code Vein, it'll be interesting to see how they go around with humanity and Revanants. Considering when we dealt the final blow again the Queen(Cruz)and asked us to 'Save the World', it's plain that out job is far from finished. Gotta admit though, the cutscene with Piat caught me completely off-guard and I love it.

Honestly, I kind of prefer the ending where you and Io stay together forever instead of her being effectively dead. It feels like bloodborne, where everything nice you try to do ends with an innocent dying, literally everything you touch just makes it worse and worse.

Wait so the giant spires are the Oracle superstructures that appeared in the anime? I’m surprised that no Aragami appeared inside, for all the time they were closed off the outside world.

I liked it better in Japanese. I was happy that there was such option to keep the voices in Japanese and subs in english :) ... I would love to see a sequel here. Fighting in the outside world...without Io it would be different... but I can handle pretty much anything with Yakumo by my side :) My ultimate partner ;p

I don't think leaving the mist now is a good idea TBH. Revenant's weapons are pretty much useless against Aragami since they're not God arc and they don't know sh*t about Aragami or so called "Horrors" but you can use pre-order God eater weapons if you like :P. Also that turning back and say "Io" in the end can also mean a DLC story, probably about rescuing Io or something since developers do the similar things in God eater series (All 3 of them at that). Overall there are so many possibilities and I'm excited for the future of both Code vein and God eater franchises.

Lets pray that they will release a DLC ending where Io is alive
