What is legacy code?

Rule of thumb: Anytime you wanna punch a hole in the wall 👊 you are dealing with legacy code.

So "legacy code" is just old code -_-

Not necessarily, Linux kernel has a lot of old code but because it is still being mantained it has never become legacy. I think it is more about code being abandoned but used.
