Download and Install OpenJDK 17 on macOS

In this video, I'd like to share with you how to download and install JDK (Java Development Kit) with OpenJDK on macOS (I'm using macOS Big Sur actually).
In details, you will see:
- download an archive file of OpenJDK 17 from official download page
- verify SHA256 checksum of the downloaded file
- extract the archive file and test java command
- set JAVA_HOME and update PATH environment variables
- check version of Java Virtual Machine (java command) and Java compiler (javac)

that means the file was tampered with, and you should not use it.

Why would you choose the x64 version when you have an M1?

I think it was my mistake. I should have chosen AArch64, right?

@@CodeJava That is correct, the AArch64 or ARM architecture is for M1 processors.
