I wouldn't say this is the most reliable source though. Tier lists will be created only after some time spent playing the detachments, and from the testing people already see some patterns, like hogs definitely NOT being T1. Also, Auspex seems to have missed a couple of nerfs, like Hogs no longer getting +1 hit, which crashes their damage output or -1 wound on Nobz only applying to Nobz if the attack is > than their T. Stompa is a mess, as always, but now you have a chance to actually hit something before you lose your 800 pts t1 or t2 :D

Orkz win fights, but grots win battles. Those little green gitz'll hold your home objective, they'll cower about doing actions to get you VP, and they'll even dig you up CP with their special rule. If you were to track VP earned by units in your games, the grots will score top almost every time.

Should be noted that Boyz being in Tier 2 is if you're taking choppas. Shoota Boyz are still very weak, Tier 4 regardless of detachment.

They might've been tier 3 if the mek with KFF still existed, because its a cheap ranged invuln and +1 to shooting, but without it, yeah... If only the shootas had assault. If they had assault, the new Big Mek might actually be enough to make a 20 swarm of shoota boys decent.

The Big Mek gives Mek keyword to 10 to 20 boys with rokkits and shootas. Re roll 1s and can press the dread mob button for sustained hits or lethal or extra ap. And they're still Boyz. So punching at 2 times at s4 is still nothing to scoff at for light infantry, s5 in the waaaagh turn. It's for sure tier 3 in a Dreadmob lol.

I think people tend to sleep on the Boosta-Blasta. For its pretty low points it's a unit that can significantly debuff something big and scary like a Knight or a C'tan (remember that debuff is for both shooting and melee) whilst pinging about in the backfield. It's not dangerous enough to be high on people's target priority list when they've got loads of angry Orks closing in on them, yet it makes dealing with those Orks just that little bit harder. I'd imagine Guard in particular will make some interesting faces when three of these things in KoS debuff all their tanks whilst teleporting Dragstas assassinate their officers...

Sadly the KBB's debuff now only affects Ranged attacks. Because the one thing that any of the Buggies needed was nerfing.

@@georgefinnegan2369 I don't have the Codex yet, but based on the Index rules you can certainly apply both effects at the same time, but the 'to hit' modifier still caps out at -1. So it wouldn't usually do much unless the attacking unit had an effect giving them +1 to hit which would cancel out one of the -1s.

i dont think Orks will dominate turnaments like we have seen with other armies before. Orks still have some hard counters in Grey knights, Death guard and Necrons

@@mtrunkello "justifiably so" LOOK AT DIS GIT. Orks spent all the editions before 8th being the 'punching bag that sometimes punches back' faction. 8th & 9th have seen incremental improvements. There should be zero nerfs for Orks, especially since GW basically gutted the dread mob.

I for one welcome our new Meganob overlords. Legit though I'm stoked for our boyz in green, who *doesn't* love a good Ork opponent?!? The only thing relevant to GW is money. They have sold the models they wanted to sell, and there are no new releases coming, so they can just let them rot. The second new flyers are coming, that entire unit type will get massive buffs.

Boomdakka Buggy also gives a -1 to hit for enemy units with a 6" aura called Dust Trail. I could see that being pretty useful if it can get close enough to get stuck in with your bikes. Also a pretty strong combo combined with Rivetin' Dakka? I can combine these two abilities?

It feels like a lot of the units I used to take for some anti tank now can't do it in decent capacity anymore. Orks were already struggling on that front and GW decided to make it worse.

I would say the hogs are not tier 1 (anymore). The warhorde stratagem of -1 to wound was nerfed, and they don't have a leader giving +1 to hit anymore. If you are not running them in war horde that loosing both sustained and +1 to hit, loosing a third of all their hits. That is quite a big decrease in damage output.

Man I have been telling people about the stompa mek combo for months now and NO ONE listened, it’s shooting plus sustained hits in melee wasn’t the absolute best but it was good, now it’s higher tier and the moment I buy one people are gonna think I meta chase instead of calling it awhile back😭😭

I got my first Stompa a year or two back as part of the local GW store's secret Santa gift exchange, and yea, the Stompa-Mek combo is a must-have for helping keep the big stompy guy alive. Ordered the Stompa battleforce and I will definitely cheese those 1600 pts once I get the 2nd one built, 'meta chaser' allegations be damned.

The Deffkilla Wartrike....... The wording says "If you would advance, instead add 6" to the movement of models in this unit". I'd think that means exactly how it sounds. 18" movement, then can charge. That's how I've been playing it for all of 10th, because Advance, and Movement are two very different things, and the ability does state the "Instead" word. But of course, GW didn't clarify in the codex, so I'm sure it'll be a topic of debate.

The "instead" replaces the advance roll, rather than the advancing itself.

In addition to this, the Rules Commentary for "Do Not Make an Advance Roll Abilities" States: "Abilities that instruct players not to make an advance roll for a unit, but instead to increase the move characteristic of models in that unit by a specified amount, cannot be used with other abilities or rules that also instruct players not to make an advance roll for the unit. In such instances, the controlling player must choose which of those abilities to use." No where in the rules commentary does it say you can't charge after using this, and no where does it state that this still counts as making an advance, therefore not being eligible to shoot or charge. Find me a rules commentary that says otherwise, and I'll admit I'm wrong. Until then, I will continue to play as I have been.

Posting this before watching. My guess is Ghaz and any unit created since will be high tier. Since they have new sets to sell. Vehicles will drop down because they aren’t trying to sell Speed Freaks boxes. While Beast Snaggaz will reign.

squighog boyz are a lot weaker now when it comes to dmg output , they lost +1 to hit option and stustain (out side war horde), 6 model were problematic to move expecialy on WTC terain and not to metion now with 8-9 model units. So honesly they would be lower T2 unit in my opinion.

Yeah i think people don't realise. I already struggle to get 6 Squighog Boyz plus bigger base of Nob into b2b or touching a model in b2b. Now i have to try and fit another larger Nob base and the huge circular squigboss base? Plus there's now no point trying to hide the unit behind cover, and GW puts the whole unit at risk for the tip of one models base, but now no -1 to wound strat unless war horde

@@Phlebas99 it's not just squighog, community is over reacting over Meganobz and Squighogs. The real gem coming out of the codex are the boys on detach in m opinion. 2x20 with reposition with weirdboy and charge strat, plus 60 bricks of hard to shift bricks that can threaten even high T with W re-rolls for 1 CP, with constant model regen. Honestly don't get it how people look at other stuff like meganobz and take it as oppressive... armchair players in my book.

How does everyone feel about the ability that killa Kanz now have? Seems more like a last ditch attempt to roll for a way to damage something that NEEDS to die at the risk just taking a ton of mortals I feel like if it was gonna do d6 it could’ve been on a 1, and just do nothing on a 2 which would be kinda funny.

D3 might make it more of a choice. D6 1/3 of the tip is Rough for the small or niche boost. It I like it overall. Str 10 Kan Klaws or Rokkits is cool.

I dont think Lootas and Killrig belong in tier 2, lootas got a small buff in dread horde but they are still awefull. The killrig has no out put and dies if you look at it hard with a las cannon

I'm surprissed burnas and lootas aren't considered mek units since are leaded by a spanner (a lesser mek). I feel the boyz need to be separated in two unita, choppa boyz and shoota boyz (yes, like in DoW), so the dakka ones can have some kind of better shooting rule.

While an overall pretty good codex I have to say it's sad that there are units that literally have zero rule support. In my opinion every single model should at least have some detachment / stratagem support somewhere in support somewhere in The codex. The flash gitz and burnas both have no support, They need to be given leaders

10 man squad in Trukk with a Mek, have Mek disembark, give truck +1 to hit. Those 30 flash gitz shots can be okay.

You wouldn't get the Gitz' ability "Gun Crazy Show Offs" which can make em BS4 anyways, because, Its the Trukk making the attack (why the Mek's +1hit works). So while an interesting idea I think it'd be better utilized by another transported unit.

Sry auspex, have to disagree with your take. Snikrot will probably never see the tables, kommandos aren't good and there are better units to do his job if needed (stormboyz), plus he is a single model, he brings neither DPS or tankiness to the table and while redeploy is interesting that's of limited use(rather have bodies and speed). Your also following on the community hype in meganobs, their a good tarpit unit but that's it.. their not as mobile, and their way less scary then 10 nobz + warboss for 275pts, that's 49 attacks during waggh vs 22 attacks (saw, 28 if claw). Honestly boy's on green tide are far more dangerous and durable. Art of war even mentioned he expects nerfs to green tide boy's. Also squighogs while receiving a slight buff with increase squad size received a double nerf if i recall, i might be wrong on this but they lost the +1 to hit from nobz so their hitting on 3, on a unit that cost's 40pts a model exactly the same cost they had with nerf, i am not seeing them more then A tier, your paying 320pts for each group and give up board presence and get a unit which is mediocre versus most things. Not sold one bit on that. Still too soon anyway to come to a conclusion.

I'd have to double check the numbers, but there's a good chance you could take that Stompa Battle Force, add in another Stompa, and easily hit that 2k mark. So yeah, 2 stompas plus around a hundred grots definitely sounds plausible.

I predict that only the new flyers will be really good, the rest will be almost ok. Then when they sell enough of the new flyers they will nerf them all back to shit.

Zogrod isnt' even tier3 for the 80pts. That's far too much. It'd be more worth doubling up on two units of Gretchin to 22 models each if you wanted to either 1, block deepstrike in the back field or 2, gum up midfield. You could stick a Beastboss into a unit of BSB for 80pts or take a unit of StormBoyz for 65 that will threaten deepstrike.

Deffcoptas are objectively better than bikes, and the trukk is useless as a transport when you can't charge units out of it.
