@@CodingInterviewPrep Hey, I'm an experienced(4+ yoe fullstack developer) working in a start-up. I've directly joined development right after my education(BE...Tier3, non CS | MTech...Tier1, non CS) and have not done much DSA. Now I feel that I'm not growing much. I have two options: 1. Switch to another startup in a similar role, field 2. Practice and prepare for DSA and keep trying for FAANG type orgs. My CGPA is just below 7 :( and I have 2 years of gap. Can this be a blocker for option 2?

Do they hire from NON-IIT or from lower tier colleges?? Do they hire MTECH students?

I have mostly seen only IITians getting hired as Freshers here. I can't really say about other colleges.

Better to gain some experience somewhere else and then try for them. For experienced candidates, college or degree doesn't matter much

Very rarely do they take full time candidates with such huge package outside of IITs. But they do take interns from other colleges.

Hey can students from IIT or nit mtech can get placed in hft firms or it's for btech only? if yes do they hire off campus?

They mostly prefer BTechs. Personally I only know 2-3 MTech people working in HFTs (in a different company, not in NK Securities)

Greetings, I need some help regarding my quant career. I'm Mihir. I have completed my schooling from a local school in my home town itself and currently pursuing B.Com from an open university. As I'm from a backward community and from a small town I got to know about Quant and Hedge funds etc.. after passing my 1 year of B.Com. I looking to get into this Quant World as a researcher or developer. What should I do now in order to get a job similar like you as HFT trader or a Quant researcher or Analyst please let me know.

Getting into quant is very difficult with just a B.Com. If you have any National/International Mathematics Olympiad win under your belt then it's a different thing otherwise becoming a trader with just a B.Com. degree is impossible.
