That's something the WWE "elite" would NEVER do, unless it's done with Make A Wish and would give Vince more AWWWW props. Vince is a sh*tbag. Cody on the other hand, LOVES the fans, not the fans money. That's the difference.

You know what would have set it even more? If Ol' cody at least pretended like that match took something out of him. He goes through that knock-down drag out bloody brawl of a match and his demeanor is like he just got done doing a light crossfit exercise. at least dustin looked tired (because he literally was) but cody sure is awfully springy and energetic here.

Listen to what they say, They don't want to "compete" aka they don't want to be number 1, they want to give fans an alternative to WWE watered down commercialized wrestling. I highly doubt they will go down the WCW business direction and go bust via throwing money away. But thing going for them is the people running and writing AEW are the kids who grew up during the Monday Night Wars and Attitude Are, this is the style of produce we will get, putting the art back into the matches. WWE's only focus is $$$ and ratings they don't care about produce until either one drops.

Me too bro. The free Battle Royal that was on TNT When it came down to the final 4 had perfect psychology and dare say more psychology in final five minutes of that match than WWE has had the last 10 years I persobally have not watched wrestling since I was a 13 around 2004 but I tuned in periodically for reunions and stuff and WWE is dead. Wrestling as a whole is dead because of them directly due to the fact of no competition.

@@joshuabranson74 The battle royal was alright. I do agree with the psychology that you mentioned. What drew me in was the match quality and how you could easily follow the story within each match. Wwe doesn't spend anytime on story's anymore, just quick fueds with zero true payoff. Moxley and omega is gonna be huge, hangman vs Jericho will be great. seeing Cody and Dustin as themselves and not stardust and goldust will also be a highlight the next time around. @CubbieBlue902
@CubbieBlue902 5 жыл бұрын
Chad Boswell you can call it cheesy, but we shouldn’t pretend the Cody character wasn’t born and raised in WWE. We shouldn’t pretend they didn’t believe in him. We shouldn’t pretend them not believing in him is the reason all of this is happening. It’s as much apart of his story as anything else, and it should be addressed. The effects might have been cheesy, but it was a great moment for his story. I don’t imagine we’ll see a whole lot more of it, but pretending he doesn’t have a chip on his shoulder because of WWE is wrong.

If anything, they will be able to compete with WWE eventually I'm glad they understand that they dont have to do that. They want to be the alternative, and by hook or crook, they are the alternative fans have been asking for. I just feel bad for companies like ROH and Impact who really feel like smaller companies now. Now you have two major North American based wrestling promotions who really make them look like indies. @@Latinofire202 true But the other promotions arent too keen on working with them. I read a while back that they (aew) reached out to njpw and roh to work out a deal with them and they said no. Now I know that Jericho and Kenny can go over to njpw and work if their aew schedule permits and njpw want them. Njpw would be smart to work with aew and not see them as a competitor but a teammate. Fans these days are more open to liking more than just one promotion. Hell, when I first started watching wrestling back in the 80s there was more than one promotion. I feel sad for the people that arent willing to like more than wwe and for the companies who dont see the value of having a good working relationship with other promotions. But, time will tell if that changes. All I know is that I am fully behind aew just as I was fully behind cody when he left wwe and fully behind the bucks and Kenny when they were in njpw and roh.
