LYRICS
I got a half a six pack of Old Milwaukee
And a half a bag of weed
I can't do it like I did when I was a kid
This is all I'm going to need
Because I know you always worry about me drinking my dinner
But I don't do that anymore
I got me a sweet girl at home
She's keeping food on the table
Every night she keeps me warm
So I've got me this piece of paper
And I got my favorite pen
I know it's been a little while
And talking's not my style
So I just had to write my friend
Hey I'm doing alright mamma
I'm okay, I know your late night talks with Jesus
Have helped me on my way
I know it wasn't always easy
Raising my father's son
And your son will be alright
If the shows keep coming
This old guitar and me are still strumming
I know you always knew I always took it way too far
But I'm doing alright now mamma
I'm doing alright now mamma
I'm doing alright now mamma
I'm doing okay
You remember the time I was stuck in L.A.?
And I didn't have a job
And I didn't have a way to pay the bills that I racked up
Yeah, you kept me from losing my truck
Yeah, I'm a little better off now
Than I was then but it's sure nice to see you calling me when
I'm out there on the road
Yeah, you calling to say "have a good show"
Hey I'm doing alright mamma
I'm okay, I know your late night talks with Jesus
Have helped me on my way
I know it wasn't always easy
Raising my father's son
And your son will be alright
If the shows keep coming
This old guitar and me are still strumming
I know you always knew I always took it way too far
But I'm doing alright now mamma
I'm doing alright now mamma
I'm doing alright now mamma
I'm doing okay

I'm 26 now and always had a rough time especially since I was 20. Credit was shot, no money, losing jobs, (would rather go to the bars) and just being a flat out loser with no motivation. Lost all my toys my guns my home my lady everything. Sleeping in my truck and friends couches. Never wanted to burden my family especially my mother. I remember the repo man came and took my truck which was my baby and she paid the money to get it out. She was always bailing me out of something.. I'm not a success but now my motivation is back and I got a nice job, newer car, and a comfortable apartment. The little things that'll make you realize how bad you screwed shit up. But if it wasn't for her I'd probably be in jail or a ditch. You're the man Cody. Shoutout to all the hardworking loving moms.

Takes a lot for someone to say that…. I know cuz I’m pretty much on the come up of my rock bottom, at 29. My Ma passed on 3-4-22 and she was my rock, after that I just didn’t care, whatever happened happened. But now after hitting my rock bottom and realizing what I had done to myself, it’s a wake up call for sure. I’m making the baby steps, yes it feels like it’s not happening fast enough, But I know it’ll get better, someday

@@MikeDT94-_- It's ironic man. My mother has been in the hospital since I made this comment. Praying she gets better but it's not a good situation. Gotta remind myself to keep trying to better myself and despite what's happening to not go off the deep end. Get my life straightened out the way it should be. Cheers brother and stay strong. 🍻

I’m 32. Lost my mom in March out of nowhere. She was my rock in every bad situation that always put myself in. My dad died when I was 18 and she made it through everything somehow, losing your husband of 41 years. She was the best. Glad to see you appreciate your mom the way she deserves. 🤙🏼
